file coruption bug.
Hi, I'm running a samba server version 2.2.3a compiled from source. The server has been up running now since august. Now, I've suddenly been hit by a vierd bug. Several files that were opened by NT clients has been corupted. How? THE samba logs has been written into the files!! Obviusly this is a major problem. Has anyone suffered this problem ? Has it been fixed? Tarjei

Wreid Problem Wine leaves user settings corupted
After installing Command and Conquer The First Decade on my kubuntu desktop I tried command and conquer gold It failed but left my user account unusable. So I halted the system. This saved the unable settings. Basically I had a white screen with no panel and right click wouldn't work. I had to delete that account and start over. Re: URGENT!!!!! Problem: outlook.pst with samba 3.0.21c!!!!!!!!
You should give us a look at your smb.conf. AFAIK from my very own experience: 3.0.21c somehow behaves different from 3.0.20 with the same smb.conf. Maybe you have to set some values which did not have to be set before. Re: Difference between ZFS and UFS with one LUN froma SAN
...ere and warn I have lost access to the controller. Then when the controller returns, after a short period, the warnings go away and the LUN continues to operate. The admin can then research further into why the controller went away. With ZFS, the above will panic the system and possibly cause other coruption on other LUNs due to this panic? I believe this was discussed in other threads? I also believe there is a bug filed against this? If so when should we expect this bug to be fixed? My understanding of ZFS is that it functions better in an environment where we have JBODs attached to the hosts....

We figure out it is PERC 6/E card battery weak. My questions are: 1. some battery only use one year (some even shorter) and already this problem. 2. How come PERC 5/E does not have this issue? 3.

cached credentials local login -- notebook domain members
Hallo, I wonder if cached credentials local logins are expected to work with samba. I have users with notebooks that I want to be domain members. If the notebook is in the wild I want the users to use their profiles (either local or roaming) stored on the notebooks. But once disconnected from the network the users can't login. I found a thread:

Question on setting up dovecot
Many thanks to Joseph Tam and Steffen Kaiser for pointing me to the logging information that I should have been using in the first place. Now that I have separate log files and debugging information, I'm still at a loss to see why the mail is not being pulled over from the Linux system to the Windows 7 machine. To recap, here is the output from doveconf -n:

Difference between ZFS and UFS with one LUN from a SAN
All, I understand that ZFS gives you more error correction when using two LUNS from a SAN. But, does it provide you with less features than UFS does on one LUN from a SAN (i.e is it less stable). Thanks, Shawn This message posted from opensolaris.org
