Steam in Wine
Hello,
I am trying to load up Steam via Wine (Latest Wine and Latest steam client) in x86 Debian Lenny (5). So far I have managed to install Team Fortress 2 (Using the DVD based Installer) and have managed to get the UI to show up for about 5 minutes and then crash. If I attempt to startup Steam it connects just fine, then the main window shows up and this Valve Hardware Survey box comes up, and

imap segfault in mail-index-sync.c
Our support team seems to have caused another crash.
They treat this mailbox like a shared one, so there may be a few people
accessing it at once. They are mostly using dovecot, but some could be
using uw-imap. These are the only two ways that this box is accessed.
I know that this doesn't really work with mbox, but it doesn't appear
to corrupt the mailbox. It seems to be a good stress

[PATCH v4] btrfs-progs: Fix a segfault when using btrfs-corrupt-block with "-U"
When using "-U" option with btrfs-corrupt-block, it will cause a
segfault due to a missing break in getopt switch.

Corrupted index cache files
I see these errors more often than I'd like from Dovecot-1.1.2 on Mac
OS X 10.5.4 (names and numbers elided):
Corrupted index cache file %s: Corrupted virtual size for uid=%d: %d !
= %d
Corrupted index cache file %s: Broken virtual size for mail UID %d
Corrupted index cache file %s: used_file_size too large
How bad are these? What should I look for to find out why they happen?

Still having that problem with samba seemingly corrupting files, it seems to be the same files that are corrupted again and again, yet they are corrupted differently and sometimes not. I ran my md5 summer against one file ch02.pdf, and it almost contineously corrupts, I checked in a hex editor and there are some differences. Yet the problem is that

Fixing ogg vorbis corruption caused by bad metadata

The second page is corrupt. The basic structure looks correct, first
guess would be bad checksum. I'll look more closely in just a bit.
This might explain why some players might accept it--- if

Corrupted dbox file/index
Hi
Looking for some insight into mdbox index file management and recovery from corruptions.
I have a two node cluster on NFS with proxy director in front for user stickness. One node (a nominated master) bidirectionally replicates to a 3rd node on a DR site.
We periodically get index file corruptions resulting in rebuilds. However the user experience is poor as messages read/deleted from

corrupt client keys question
summary: I have a situation in which a private RSA key has been
corrupted, but it's still possible to log into a SSH server using that
file. This is with OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 Debian.
I have a SSH public/private key pair generated with "ssh-keygen -t
rsa". I can use the private key to successfully log into a SSH server
which has the public key in it's the authorized_keys file.

corrupt files on samba server
Hello all,
I've got a strange problem on the samba servers here at my
workingplace. The problem is that we have some files on these machines
which seem to be corrupt. Mostly the corrupt files are images, excel
cheets and sometimes Word documents. We have no idea why these files
become corrupt. We have tested some things:
We copied a whole folder to the samba server. The result was

md5 checksum
hi
here some questions about the md5 checksum:
- what happens when the md5 checksum of the decoded audio is different
of the internally stored checksum due to file corruption ? Will
playing/decoding still be possible (with some error frames) or will
playing /decoding be not possible at all (so all audio data is lost)?
- what happens when the metadata blocks get corrupt? will the audio

corrupted mbox
Heya,
we have two IMAP (UW-imap and dovecot) servers accessing the same mbox files for our users (don't ask why) and sometimes the UW-imap corrupts the mbox file. The mbox looks just like normal mbox except it does not have the proper 'From ' beginning of the file (usually there are some random tidbits in the begining of the file, which can be easily stripped to recover the working

xfs fsck error metadata corruption
Hi,
Everytime I restart Centos 7 I receive a error saying?
metadata is corrupt
and then I need to go through the process of mount and unmount the disk uuid then run
xfs_repair {some uuid}
or
xfs_repair -L {some uuid} which ultimately corrupts even more.
I?m running on a RAID 1 two identical drives
this has happened more then once and had to reinstall. Any way I can prevent this when I

Fixing corrupted ogg files
I have several corrupted ogg files; I believe they were created several
years ago with grip, and that the corruption is not disk corruption but
just something wrong with the encoder at the time. I would rather not
have to re-rip these discs.
The error I see with ogginfo is
Warning: Hole in data (18000 bytes) found at approximate offset
702086827724505088 bytes. Corrupted ogg.
