Xen/Virtualization sessions at KS/OLS
Folks,
Regarding the Virtualization BoF, Ted Tso clarified
that the remaining BoF sessons would just be scheduled
on paper at OLS. We only need to use a scheduled BoF
slot if we want to use a room there, I guess, else we
can schedule at any free time and use a corridor or pub.
Available BoF slots are only Friday evening, note. Since
I don't believe the Xen team is available Friday evening,
we'll just organize an informal one, looks like.
As far as I know, here are the times for the various
Xen/Virtualization related events:

i don`t like rsync over ssh in an environemt with users you can?t trust.
from a security perspective, i think such setup is broken by design.
it`s a little bit like giving a foreigner the key to your front door and then hope that the door in the corridor to your room will be "secure and stable enough".
some reasons why i think this way can be found here:

Only stereo instead true 5.1 sound in World of Warcraft
Hi,
Im trying to get World of Warcraft to sound the same way as in win xp - i mean in real 5.1 - no duplicating channels in alsa etc...
Problem is that WoW in Wine 1.1.2 detects only stereo mode as SESound.log file in wow logs says:
Code:
8/18 16:22:22.509 - Detected Control Panel Speaker Mode = STEREO
8/18 16:22:22.509 - Setting WoW Speaker Mode to STEREO
but in winxp WoW detects real 5.1

Aw: Re: encrypted rsyncd - why was it never implemented?
from a security perspective this is bad. think of a backup provider who wants to make rsyncd modules available to the end users so they can push backups to the server. do you think that such server is secure if all users are allowed to open up an ssh shell to secure their rsync transfer ?
ok, you can restrict the ssh connection, but you open up a hole and you need to think twice to make it secure

[RFC] RISC-V backend
Hi all,
I am proposing the integration of a backend targeting the RISC-V ISA.
RISC-V is a free and open instruction set architecture that was originally
developed at UC Berkeley. Future development of the ISA specification will be
handled by the 501(c)(6) non-profit RISC-V Foundation and its members
