text at the upper left corner outside of the plot region
Hi, is there a way to place text at the upper left corner (or another corner) of the plot? I want to place it really at the upper left corner of the whole plot (the file I get), not at the upper left corner of the plot-region. I tried text() and mtext(), and corner.label() of the plotrix package but it didn't work out. thanks!

question about cloud() in lattice package
Hi all, I have been previously been using scatterplot3d package to create some graphs but unfortunately it does not allow me to rotate the plot on all three axis. The cloud() function in the lattice package does allow me to do so. When I was using scatterplot3d I was using a script (Shown Below) to calculate the mean, quartiles and range limits for all three axis and I was representing that on the

asp=1 and aspect ratio
Hi everyone I want a square scatterplot with abline(0,1) going exactly through the SW and NE corners. By "square" I mean that the plotting region is exactly square, and that the axis limits are identical. x <- 1:20 y <- x+rep(c(-1,1),10) lims <- range(c(x,y)) None of the following do this: plot(x,y) ; abline(0,1) #not square plot(x,y,asp=1);abline(0,1) #diagonal...

putting text in the corner
I want to write some text in a corner of my plot. Is it possible to get the xlim and ylim of an open window? Or is there anything similar like legend(x="bottomright", inset=0.01,legend=...) for text(x=1,y=2, "test") Thomas

adding text to the top corner of a lattice plot
Hi, I have a series of lattice plots which I am arranging in a 2x2 grid via print: print(p.preds, split=c(1,1, 2,2), more=TRUE) print(p.comp, split=c(2,1,2,2), more=TRUE) print(p.bw, split=c(1,2,2,2), more=FALSE) What I'd like to have is a letter (A, B, ...) in the top corner of each plot. While panel.text lets me add text anywhere within a plot, I can't seem to workout how I could put

rounded corners in rails apps ?
Hi all I like very much rounded corners and often used thee well known nifty Javascript approach for that, Recently I discovered Rico ( http://openrico.org), which does the same and is much simpler to use (don''t require additional css files) and is based on prototype.js. This is all very nice, but there is currently one problem,...

adding text to the corner of a lattice plot
Dear R community, I am using R 2.1.1 on Windows XP, package lattice Version 0.12-5, and want to add text (sort of a dat-stamp actually) to the lower left corner of a lattice plot, prefarably _after_ the plot has been created. Here is a simple example what I do in base graphics: # base graphics: > plot(rnorm(100), rnorm(100)) > mtext(as.character(Sys.Date()), side = 1,line = -2, outer = T,

little subplot in corner
I want to draw a little subplot ("overview") into my detailed plot. It should be placed in say the top right corner and have the size of some legend (like legend(x="topright", inset=0.03, ...) #main plot plot(rnorm(100)) #give little density in corner plot(seq(-2,2,length=300),dnorm(seq(-2,2,length=300)),type="l") I don't want something like par(mfrow=c(1,2)) as

Placing of legends
Hello, placings of legends is sometimes tricky. For placing outside the plot region I found locator to be useful. Unfortunately, the click defines the upper left corner. Is there a way to change this corner (say lower right corner)? Thanks, Christian
