"-signs in rsync as well as in embedded ssh command
Hello,
Today I succesfully transfered some testfile on my local computer with the
following command:
rsync -e "ssh" testfile.txt localhost:receive
I can also succesfully connect with SSH to a remote server through an http proxy
with the following command:
ssh -o "ProxyCommand corkscrew myhttpProxy 8080 targetcomputer.domain 22"
targetcomputer.domain
But I'm so far unable to combine them, mostly because the "-signs in the SSH
command seem to conflict with the "-signs in the rsync command.
I've tried the following combinations with the following results:

Installing plugins without svn:// access
Hi,
I''m trying to get up and running with rspec on a new project. I''d like to
install the rspec and rspec_on_rails plugins (per
http://rspec.rubyforge.org/documentation/rails/install.html), but my
corporate firewall blocks port 3690 so I can''t access the repository via
svn://
I searched the docs and the mailing-list archive to figure out how to
install the plugins

ProxyCommand
Hi all,
I tried to use the ProxyCommand option in the ~/.ssh/config file like
ProxyCommand /usr/local/bin/corkscrew <firewall> 80 %h %p
but it seems th me that the ssh clinet won't use the option
.. How can I tell the client to accept the proxy an send all requests to this host, bcause the internet names ("%P") cannot be resolved inside our lan - this must do the proxy.
Thanks!

shellinabox
...nly "session closed" after inserting username and
pressing enter key.
I'm trying to escape a very strong firewall/proxy for the purpose of
managing such a Centos box via SSH and, if you know alternatives to
shellinabox, I'll be very glad to hear something from you. I already
tried corkscrew and tor but both cannot escape firewall/proxy rules.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Bye

lines on persp plot - proper depth ordering
...###########################
Ideally, the red line would occur behind the grey line (and in this
example, I could very simply switch the order and fix the problem), but I'm
not sure how to make this happen in the general case. I have a dataset of
more like a hundred lines, many of which sort of corkscrew around one
another. How can I ensure that the plotting of the lines respects the
depth? Is there a better function I could be using for this? I tried plot3d
in rgl and scatter3d in Rcmdr, but both crash R on my system.
Thanks so much in advance!

iran
Hey everyone ,
I'm using tinc from iran , and i've been using tinc with tcponly for a few
years now , to bypass the filtering , and have access to the free internet
, but recently , our government started to apply some sort of exotic
filtering scheme , they've completely blocked outgoing and incoming ssh
requests , and ssl encrypted packets , and the only thing allowed is https

Web-Proxy-Option?
Hi,
I'd like to suggest adding a web proxy option
to the ssh client.
Sometimes you're in a LAN without any direct
connection to the internet, but with a web proxy
which supports the CONNECT command for ssl
connections.
The ssh client could use these proxies as well.

client to support SNI
Hi.
Looks like every ~2 Years raises someone the question about SNI support in the
openssh client.

I have read the docs and haven't seen anything about that this feature is
already available in SSH.

Exporting collections/sshkeys
Hullo,
I am attempting to use collections in order to distribute ssh keys
across (soon) many hosts but I am hitting some trouble (the recipe I am
using is at the end of this email). Namely it looks like sshkeys
resources are not marked as exported in the sqlite db. I.e. if I do:
sqlite3 clientconfigs.sqlite3
SQLite version 3.3.5
Enter ".help" for instructions

various ordering issues in puppet manifests
Hello,
The more complicated my puppet scripts gets, the more ordering issue i meet. Here is a simple thing:
I use a default backup policy for the nodes in my backup classe and then, in the node i try to override the defined
default but even if they are done one after the other i got an error to say that the override is triggered before the
default:

Dependencies between machines
Hello:
I''ve been reading up on puppet after spending a while on SmartFrog.
SmartFrog''s late binding and ability to encode dependencies between
machines or document parallel or serial configuration steps was
compelling. Java was not. :)
Are there notions of these concepts in puppet that aren''t apparent
from the documentation? Different ways to get to the same

Recursive home-dir does more than only files in repository
Hi all,
Today I came across something that I consider a bug. Would like to hear your
opinions.
Facts:
- Using 0.22.1 from Debian Unstable on a Debian Testing machine
- Recipes work on other machines
The recipe in question is:
# Keep home-dirs in sync
file { "/home/tim":

"could not connect to host - localhost"
Hi All:
I'm running Mandrake 8.1 (downloaded) and the install went fine.
Configuring Samba however is another story. I get the message "could not
connect to host - localhost" on the Linux box. I cannot see the network
from the Linux system. The Linux system is visable from Win'98SE as are the
shares but I cannot access them "password is incorrect".
