File won't copy to client
...archive at work, and we are having trouble with Office 97. I traced it back to riched20.dll. The file is one the server, but it never copies. I can't even see the file. If i rename it, it shows up.
What is up with that?

Painfully slow writes in MS-DOS
...e to VM-Ware.
I have Samba 2.2.4 at home and it is am smooth as silk, so I may not need help,
BUT!!!
I went through the process of repackaging our handy-dandy multi boot floppy for the purpose of getting help, and while I may not need the help any more, you folks may find it useful.

Automating cupsaddsmb or some alternative
...thenticate.
I was wondering if there was a way that I could streamline this a bit so
they'd never have to do any of that. Also, not killing samba would be
nice, as there will be up to 200 people per print server.
Thanks!

Reason for slow MS-DOS MS client writes
...nt servers at our company with a single Samba server per subnet
(roughly 40.)
Total savings? For software alone, possibly up to $120,000!
I wonder if they'll give it to me as a Christmas bonus? Something tells me
no.
Anyway, I hope this helps. Enjoy!
PS, here is the Froppy!

Wrong user used when mounting with mount.cifs
This may be sorta off topic considering this is probably regarding the
linux kernel but I am hoping someone here will have the answer anyway.
I am having the strangest problem when mounting a samba share with "-t
cifs" as opposed to "-t smbfs" where, instead of mounting as the user I am
logged in as, it is mounted as if I were logged on as a completely
different user.
