New Directshow filters preview...
I have been developing some directshow filters for ogg, and vorbis and speex... currently i have an ogg demux filter and a speex/vorbis decoding filter. In this pre-release only vorbis is operational... but the speex decoder is pretty much done... i jsut need to tweak the demux filter so that it can negotiate a speex connection with the other filter. Just though some people might find them useful

- the Dshow filter is a decoder filter only that does not come with a
FLAC source filter yet ( like CoreAAC and CoreVorbis ), so it cant play
FLAC files. If somebody updated Tobias' Ogg source filter it could well
play OggFLAC for sure, this required only minimal changes so the Ogg
splitter could recognize FLAC in Ogg and call the decoder in the
playback graph.

Ogg Vorbis Codec Installation
Heya guys,
I'm currently using some DirectX features to try and play .ogg files and
apparently all I'm going to need for .ogg to be supported by DX is a Codec.
Would there be an installer available for the Ogg Codec or should I just
copy some .dll's into appropriate places and that'd do it (if this is the
case, which .dll's need to go where?)?
Thanks,
Ian

[Flac-users] FLAC in the news
FYI,
Unless you've been checking the FLAC site you might have
missed some encouraging things that have happened in the
last few months. I haven't really been announcing things
in the lists along the way, but to summarize:
- Primus and Phish have been selling soundboard recordings
of shows in FLAC
- Magnatune (an indie label) offers their whole catalog in
FLAC and Vorbis now
- More

Project announcement : opensource Vorbis DirectShow decoder filter
...d source Ogg Vorbis DirectShow filters
for Windows.
The Corecodec team around their main DirectShow developer, Christophe
'Toff' Paris, has released the sourcecode for a working and tested
Vorbis DirectShow filter on the Corecodec.org opensource community.
http://corecodec.org/projects/corevorbis
The code is released under GPL and Xiph people are asked to upload it to
the Xiph CVS server also. As our anonymous access to the CVS tree is
broken since about 2 months *cough* i recommend anybody from the Xiph
team with write access to the Vorbis CVS gets an account on
corecodec.org and pass...

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian.
Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP.
I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska.
The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the
illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the
codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the
codecs available. This is much preferable of course
