Bulk copy of files with owner info using Robocopy fails with error
...e. ACL's are in other words working, and from the SSH command line I have no issues when I test AD connectivity.
However, in order to fully deploy I need to be able to bulk copy over existing directories with owner info intact, and to do that I have usually used Robocopy with /COPY:DATSO (or /COPYALL which is /COPY:DATSOU though I believe Samba 4 doesn't use the U flag anyway) to get both the NTFS security (S) and owner (O) information correct. But trying to do that to my new file server (using the domain administrator account in an elevated command line) spits out an error.

Can one set the owner of a folder to BUILTIN\Administrators?
I've recently attempted to migrate some windows server files over to
samba 4 hosted on a FreeNAS server.
Using robocopy with the /copyall switch, I expected everything,
including ACL's and ownership information to transfer over. For the
most part they have. The one problem I've ran into however, is that I'm
getting errors any time I or robocopy attempt to change the ownership to
BUILTIN\Administrators.

File timestamp issue
...ignored since each run is a full replication. I *think* that this behaviour
started after upgrading the Samba from 4.12 to 4.15 recently.
When I look at the timestamps on Windows and Linux/Ext4, they look
identical, down to the second.
The command used is ROBOCOPY SOURCE TARGET /MIR /NDL /NFL /NP /COPYALL
So, is there a Robocopy guru out there that can advise us?
PS1. The smb.conf looks like this
[global]
netbios name = HP-SRV03
bind interfaces only = yes
interfaces = lo ens3
realm = XAGAREN.SE
server role = MEMBER SERVER
security = ADS
workgroup = HPLTS

samba 3.5.3 time-stamping issue
I'm copying a windows share onto a samba share, with robocopy to
preserve filetimes and ACL's, but I get a lot of
"ERROR 50 (0x00000032) Time-stamping destination file ..."
It seems samba does not like to change the timestamp to the original time.
Robocopy uses the option /copyall

copy files and it would NOT copy everything
hi everybody
I'm dealing here with a very very bizarre situation:
on a Win7 I copy larger sets of data, between 10 and 30GB
(~20K of files in 2.5K folders) everything starts very
normal, I select all the data, copy & paste.
Copying begins and I see progress bar moving normally
towards the finish and it finishes - no errors no messages -
yes most of data does not get to the target

OK, sorry.
Now is working properly.
I'm copying the Windows files to Samba4 and I'm not able to copy the NTFS
security information. In the logs it states that the destination is not an
NTFS system.
