[fdo] Time to kill the fontconfig wiki?
...n it most recently.
(I restored them both this week, but expect that to not last long.)
Would fontconfig be better served by a static web page? (Maybe even one
with, dare I say it, nice fonts?) Or should the wiki just be purged and
set up fresh with greater levels of access control?

How to get podcasters to adopt Speex?
...it
comes to sampling rates. I don't think 16kHz is that much to ask. And
yes, I'm talking about SPEECH and not audio in general.
Of course, sometimes there are legitimate reasons to use 8kHz. I'm
just saying, try to make sure the sacrifice in quality is not in vain.

Not the OP, but I will tell you why it is important. GPL, as you know, is
put in place to protect the opensource aspect of the code, and as such

Wide band is 16 KHz 8 bit. UW band is 32 KHz 8 bit audio?

Please consider using 16-bit 16kHz (wideband) instead. It's a huge increase
in audio quality and the bitrate is still very low, especially if you take
advantage of Speex features such as VBR.

More BDF file parsing issues in libXfont
========================================
Description:
============

uncovered two more issues in the parsing of BDF font files.
As libXfont is used by the X server to read font files, and an unprivileged
user with access to the X server can tell the X server to read a given font
file from a path of their...
