integrating vbulletin
Has anyone successfully integrated (embedded) vbulletin into a rails app? I would be curious to see if/how this worked. RForum still seems quite beta so I am looking for something a little more tried and true. thanks adam

Can I use it to FIX my internet connection?
Hi, Here is my goal. Can I do this with tinc? I have a mobile broadband card, and my machine runs a webserver, email server, and a public vcs. But I have four problems: 1. Port 25 is blocked so I have to use an elaborate convulsion to allow me to send mails. 2. It has a dynamic IP address so I have to use dynamic DNS. 3. There's no way for me to set up reverse DNS (that I know of). 4. They

I currently have dial-on-demand setup on the same box, using diald and an external modem. To prevent DOD from trying to dial out during an external call, I have an AGI script kill diald before initiating a call, and then restart it at the end of the call by looking

Starcraft (not so) success
The story: I have wine-20010216 with Starcraft installed from within wine. All works well, except, sometimes, in the middle of the game (running as root to get DGA), the mouse and keyboard stop responding altogether, 30 seconds after which the game stops moving (the display freezes altogether). I cannot do anything, not even switch to another tty. My only course is to ssh into the box from

List tips for new subscribers <--sorry for 2 nd post, missed this.

Mmm, I (respectfully) disagree. One of the unstated objectives of mechanisms like this list is to evangelize the platform. Obviously, we all want it to do well. You can only do that by creating
