smbd fails to start - rpc_srv_register: Failed to call the svcctl init function!
...file which has some deprecated options, but still passed the testparm test
when I attempt to start smbd from the command line
/usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd -i -d 1
I get the following output and smbd does not start/

convert_string_talloc: Conversion error: Incomplete multibyte sequence
...lot of read only errors and users not being able
to save. I have found that rebooting the client, restarting samba, or
killing the users smbd process regains access to the file that the
user wanted. In the logs I see a lot of the following errors:

New Samba Error We Have Not Seen Before
We have about 40 samba servers in our domain. The two newest ones are throwing an error we've never seen before.

Samba Printing api_rpcTNP: \spoolss: SPOOLSS_OPENPRINTEREX failed
...f Debian Squeeze some printouts will not printed. The same prinjob will printed after a couple of tries. I increased the loglevel and there are only a few messages which showing whtat could be the problem. The printjobs doesn't arrive at cups.

Problems printing with samba 3.5.2
...omorrow I'll see more of those :-( so I'll have the chance to capture more detailed logs.

I'm trying to migrate from samba3 to samba4 (4.0.3 installed from source in
