Re: SYSLINUX Digest, Vol 33, menu.c32 chaining
Hello,
many of our platforms do not have a integrated floppy, some even don''t have a floppy controller. As pxelinux still has a problem with machines without a floppy in combination with some bios versions I need to chainload a different bootstrap loader which works on the floppyless platforms. But I also need to load a BartPE and the other BS loader does not support that. So I tried to

DHCPd Config
I've read a number of articles, googled the web for a few months and
now attempting at turning my CentOS box into a gateway for the third
time. Configured my dhcpd.conf and other related files and all seems
to be working, I can have my M$ desktop leasing an ip address and all.
The problem is when I want to go out to the internet I keep on getting
the Request Timed out error.

[PATCH] Fix signed use of i_blocks in ext3 truncate
Fix "h_buffer_credits<0" assert failure during truncate.
The bug occurs when the "i_blocks" count in the file's inode overflows
past 2^31. That works fine most of the time, because i_blocks is an
unsigned long, and should go up to 2^32; but there's a place in truncate
where ext3 calculates the size of the next transaction chunk for the
delete, and that mistakenly

R binaries for UMBUTU Linux?
Has anyone out there compiled R for the Umbutu Linux* (ne? Debian) v.
5.04 distribution for Intel-type platforms (32 and 64 bit) ?
Thank you,
Derek Eder
* Umbutu, a popular new Linux distribution, not a Nigerian scam, I
promise! http://www.ubuntulinux.org/

computational capacity of Linux network
Hi, This is not an R question per ce, but I feel like this is a right
community to ask it.
As a part of our work we run a lot of non-interactive computational jobs. To
increase the throughput we would like to distribute the load over the entire
network and we are looking at Linux network as a platform. Ideally we would
like to be able to submit a job to the network, rather than to a computer,

...server from a samba 2.0.7 (RH 7), with
the default oplock configuration. Their application is called Yardi and it
uses a btrieve database. The database ran fine for about 1 week and then
several TRANS.DAT errors occured. The company that supports Yardi says this
error is from not enough (get this) convential memory available on the
client (Humm I stopped running DOS apps years ago). Accorder to the Yardi
specs the clients were running below the convential memory reqs. This has be
fixed. Well then they ran the standalone on a windows box and had it
rebuilt. They moved it back to the Samaba server and mu...
