External yum and apt Repositories and CentOS4
Were looking to use yum 2.1's ability to store repository data in /etc/yum.repos.d/ as a means of pushing updates to our mirrors list. As an added feature, we want to host third party repository config in installable .rpm's into CentOS-Extras. So that enabling a new repository becomes as easy as "yum install <repo name>". Eg. 'yum install repo- dag'. Which would in

Most productive manner of building custom xen packages
...ndencies I'm facing for custom tools, Intrepid is very nice. It occurs to me I should probably try Lenny, as many Xen-related tools I want to work with can run portions in DomU, and those portions have heavier dependencies. In any case, I'd like for the work I do on this to be potentially contributory, as it's very important for me, feature-wise, to work with the latest Xen, and the most recent Dom0 software possible. I would really like to produce a package built on Debian, which will also build on Ubuntu. I implore upon the list a simple request of any assistance you may offer, understan...

Sage Accounts Performance Issues (Solved)
...aset for Sage Line 50.) I tried a number of things, including turning oplocks on and off on the sage data share, and a number of things on the PCS - no help at all. I moved from Samba 3.0 to Samba 3.3, using the Samba3x packages provided for RHEL / CentOS. No help. (Although this may have been contributory in the end - I can't prove either way.) I then found that I had in my smb.conf the line socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 which had come forward from the old server. Removing the socket options line made no obvious difference to the speed with oplocks disabled, but...

...water in court. It doesn't have to usually. Going to court is an expensive enough deterrant to most people. Why do you think they make these claims? :) The risk factor is not worth it for most people, and they will back down. I'm already trying to figure out if I could be liable for any contributory infringement, although I don't think there's an issue. > I don't..
