How to stop intruder from registering sip?
...lerid="Conf Room" <151> ;;secret=0000 ;;host=dynamic ;;qualify=yes ;;dtmfmode=rfc2833 ;;allow=all ;;defaultuser=151 ;;nat=yes ;;canreinvite=no There's no DISA. And then somehow (how???) ip address 79.117.17.247 becomes extension 151 and starts making calls to West Africa. Now contactdeny and contactpermit over solve the problem. For instance, I can't register with my voip provider. I don't care about peers who I make calls to, or receive calls from. I'm just stunned someone can become a peer and make calls themselves. How do I fix this in some reasonable way. sean...

Allowing peers from specific subnet only
Hi; How I can make my configuration to allow the sip phones only from specific IP addresses range (for example from 192.168.10.1 - 192.168.10.50) to be allowed to connect for asterisk? In other words, in addition to be authenticated based on the username and password, it is required that the IP address of the Phone to be from this range. How? Regards Bilal

Help me understand these log messages
OK, I need a bit of help here. I'm configuring a new Asterisk 11 system and I accidentally let my firewall rules drop for a day or so. When I logged in today, I found messages like the ones below on my asterisk console. Obviously somebody was trying to take advantage of my carelessness. So can someone explain what would cause these types of messages to show up on my console? I understand

Asterisk not receiving call from VPN address
Hi, We have a Kamailio and Asterisk cluster, both machines being on a real 103.x IP address and also on a 172.x OpenVPN address. The problem is that when Kamailo receives a call from the VPN and forwards it to the Asterisk server on it's 103.x address, Asterisk never sees the call. If Kamailio receives a call from the VPN and forwards the call to the Asterisk server on it's 172.x
