IMAP
...hich we believe have isolated to IMAP sessions. We have 3 servers running Dovecot, with a central store shared via NFS. Things have been running quite well for months now, with the latest issues appearing within the last week. As an experiment have 2 of the server running and only accepting POP3 connecitons no IMAP, and the 3rd server only accepting IMAP connections and no POP3. When the issue occurred today, stopping dovecot on the IMAP only server allowed POP3 to resume to normal operations 5-10 minutes later. Leaving IMAP disabled for a period of time (about 30 mins) and then re-enabling seemed t...

Questions about sshd_config man page and comments in the file
Hi , I have two problems when i went through a) the man page of sshd_config and b) the comments quoted in sshd_config file itself. They are given below. a) >From the man page of sshd_config: "If UsePAM is enabled, you will not be able to run sshd(8) as a non-privileged user." I changed the permission of the hostkeys to a non-privileged user and tried to run sshd alongwith

specifying ip when forwarding?
With openssh, i can use -L x:y:z to forward a local port x to the remote host y's port z. If the sshd server has more than one IP, is there a way to specify which it binds to when forwarding the connection? If not, this may be a feature you should consider adding? -- -*% % % % % % % % % % % % % % % % *- -* xercist *- -* xercist at mindless.com *- -* % % % % % %

3.4p1 Error on Tru64 Unix - cannot set login uid
Hi, I have recently loaded Openssh 3.4p1 on an Tru64 Unix 5.1A system. I followed the installation instructions described in INSTALL, essentially using all default settings, and it went throught without any obvious errors. I can then use the root account to initiate outbound and inbound ssh calls, and can log on without any problems. The trouble is that when I try to use ssh to log in (from a

unless connected? + multiple databases
Hello all. I am still having fun with multiple databases. In this case it is the unless connected? statement. ActiveRecord::Base establishes a connection that is inherited by the majority of my models. However one Model (Componentlog) that uses a separate DB is coded as: unless Componentlog.connected? establish_connection( :adapter => "oci", :database =>

Quad BRI card
Hi all Does Digium make a quad BRI card? I can't see anything of the sort on their page but I thought they might call it something else in the States. Failing that, can anyone recommend a make/model that would handle 4 BRI ports? -- Cheers Wayne

Passwords and NT
I have searched the archives and the internet and found nothing on this topic but I know it's a known issue. Second I would like to say this has nothing to do with NTDOM. I am running a samba server 2.0.0 on a freebsd box. I am connecting to the server using windows 9x and NT clients. I have hacked the windows registries to enable clear text passwords across the lan. The problem is when

The network path was not found.
I am attempting to join a windows 7 computer running in virtual box to a samba4 domain (version 4.1.0pre1-GIT-243278a). I get prompted for credentials, I use the provisioned Administrator account, and then get the following: The Following error occured attempting to join the domain "ad.redacted.com" The network path was not found. Spill over
List I need some help, advice or just a starting point on the following situation: Link A - 64kbps leased line Link B - 512kbps ADSL line Is it possible to have Link A saturated constantly and have the excess traffic "spill over" onto Link B? I know it''s possible to have packets sent down links in a round-robin fashion and I''ve read in the howto on load sharing
