R 2.5.0 devel try issue in conjuntion with S4 method dispatch
Hi, after updating R 2.5.0 devel yesterday we today observed many new unexpected failures in our daily package build and test system runs, which can be traced to recent changes in the implementation in try() (as noted in NEWS). Investigating this new implementation I come across an issue in conjuntion with using S4 classes and methods. try(expr) does not return an object with attribute 'try-error' in case of method dispatch failure in the wrapped expression which to me seems not quite correct. Examples to reproduce the observation: ## using functions all is well: f <- function(x...

I know about normalize and have figured out how to trim leading and trailing silence in sox, but I'm looking for more :) Thanks in advance,

I think the gnuclient / XEmacs communication is the only way > one display can find out about the other. The problem here is that gnuclient itself also uses Xauth cookies to authenticate remote links. (It works by looking up the cookie...

Avery Lables, PDF::Writer or LaTex?
In a new app we are developing, we need to be able to dynamically create a PDF and send it to the browser (inline with send_data). I have been tinkering with PDF::Writer and love the simplicity and native ruby-ness of it all. However, one of the main uses for this functionality is to output a PDF of addresses to be printed on Avery 5161 labels. LaTex seems to be suited well for this, but it
