Bug in Ferret::Search::SortField::SCORE ??
i have been trying to get this to work for a while now. my controller
is
sort = [ Ferret::Search::SortField::SCORE_REV ]
@results = Record.multi_search(params[:search_terms], [ Link, Post,
Event ], {:limit => :all, :sort => sort })
and in my view i just render a conglomeration of the appropriate
partials for each model. it seems that no matter what i do, i can''t get
the results to be ordered by their ferret_score, even though i can
display that score just fine in my views. i''m really confused and
getting frustrated. maybe someone can shed some light...

Fishers exact test
...use fisher.test . I'm using it on 2 x c (where c
varies from 2 to 7) table, the total number of counts is 918. It does work
with some of the categorisations of the data, but it's failing on those
categorisations where the Chi-squared approximation breaks down due to
small expected counts. A conglomeration of categories is not feasible.
Is my memory too small ( if so which one of the parameters nsize, vsize
needs changing) or do I need to change the parameter for 'working space'
within the command? Or is it soemthing else?
yours gratefully,
Simon Bond.

remote logging non-daemon mode
Greetings all. Due to security concerns we are switching our backup
processes from "SSH tunnel to rsync daemon" to "Running rsync over ssh
in --server mode". In daemon mode we had a nice conglomerate log file
of all of the backups that ran. Now that I am tweaking the scripts to
run over --server mode I see that by default there is no remote
logging. From what I have read on

German Rails Site in production
Hi all,
We have put our Rails CMS into production, using it on a client project. It
has been running for about a week now with the usual small problems, but
seems to become fairly stable.
The site is the ''home'' page for a swiss public transport conglomerate. It
has travel offers that can be navigated across.

--ignore-case option does not ignore pathname case?
tested with 3.07 and 3.1 with --ignore-case patch applied
cd /tmp
mkdir -p a/b/c/d/e/f
mkdir -p A/b/C/D/e/F
add some files to a/b/c/d/e/f/
rsync -r --ignore-case a/ A/
>> creates b/c/d/e/f/<files>
Why is it not ignoring case? I expect it to add all files in 'f' to 'F'

Again kea DHCP-Server
...h it. Mainly, that?s because
there?s too much text book documentation and not enough basic example and
HOWTO out there (yet). KEA is definitely capable of being much more complex
than traditional ISC DHCPd that we all know and love? However?
3. ISC DHCPd has become quite a hodgepodge of hacks and a conglomeration
of code spaghetti over the years as various ornaments got hung on the DHCP
tree. KEA is a concerted effort by ISC to step back and look at creating a clean
server with all the modern capabilities needed in a reference implementation
of DHCP that provides literally every possible feature. IMHO, it?s...

dependency and communication between defined classes
Hi,
i wanted to know how you handle case when classes or define need to
communicate between them. For exemple i got an ftpd define and a
apachevhost define. Both need to know the path where the vhost is set
and this path is defined by the ftpuser home''s directory. How can i ask
information from other define or other classes ? we allready seen that
tag are not reliable as they

RFC: SIMD math-function library
I should keep quiet and leave well enough alone, but playing devil's
advocate for a moment -
I see you didn't bundle this with compiler-rt, which I guess is good?
In the end what was the reasoning for that? Do you see this being
sufficiently independent and running a different development track
that it made sense?
1) Why rename C files to C++ (consistency?)
2) It seems your

ISDN
Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up Asterisk in a SOHO environment using ISDN for trunking. More specifically a BRI 2B+D circuit where one SPID is used for the business and the other is used for personal. The circuit already exists, but is presently being interfaced to POTS phones via a TA.
This configuration is not very common in the US, but we are fortunate that our LEC offers it price

Last year I arranged with my college radio station and ITS department to

success so far. My problem now is not technical, but political. A few days

Global Variables?
What is the view of having / not having global variables in Puppet?
Facter variables are global in the sense they are defined in every scope
(whereas ''normal'' variables are only available within the scope they are
defined in).
I could simply add a custom fact for my DoesTheServerNeedASerialConsole
flag to Facter, but I''m not 100% sure I should be having the client

What are the various models of DID providers
Hi,
Inspired by a recent rant about one particular provider, I am getting
very curious about something I've never mastered. I'd like someone to
explain this here or at least post a link or two that can educate me
and probably countless others who have no knowledge in this area. I'm
sure there are several of you reading this that know all about the
subject.
