Samba 4 - disabling SSLv3 to mitigate POODLE effects
Thanks Kelvin
I'm a bit confised tho, is this patch already avaiable? if yes, what is the
parameter that disable ssl into the smb.conf? Maybe the guys from
Enterprise samba have already included the patch into their releases so
it's just a maatter of enabling the flag.
I'm using sernet-samba-4.2.2
Thanks!

Add permission? (was How to create a write-only share?)
Need your help! I'm very confised and tired, tried a lot of variants
but still at the start, even lost all understanding how the
permissions and masks works.
Please write me a config for the following case:
There is a directory:
'/home/shared/door', owned by 'michael:office'
shared via samba as '[door]'
How can I configure the FS and samba to let 'michael'

Trying to configure a SAMBA 3 PDC with OpenLDAP

create mask = 0644
directory mask = 0755

I have tried to follow the documentation, but it is somewhat confising when it refers to LDAP. It is never clear whether they are talking about the new style or the old Samba 2.x style. Maybe it is not completely updated.
Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone managed to get the Paypal plugin to work?
Is there anyone out there who has managed to get Paypal immediate
payment notificiations to work with the Paypal plugin?
I can get as far as making the payment in the sandbox, but can''t get any
acknowledgement back to confirm the payment was made.
I''m confised as to how Paypal will know where to send the
acknowledgement as I''ve not supplied my IP address or anything

I'm not sure what you're saying here. In the X86 backend, for example, we
generate both X86GenRegisterInfo.h.inc and X86GenRegisterInfo.inc. The
former is #included into X86RegisterInfo.h and the

The SSH trademark issue part #1
...naming the IETF standard the same as the trademark, SSH Corp. strongly
undermines it's (legal) position, and I seriously doubt that the trademark
will hold in court. Luckely I'm not a laywer, so I could be wrong.

Well, since most people don't read documentation, I'm not suprised. I once

No patch available now. Download the source code and modified the source
code yourself, and then compile it.

Samba 4 - disabling SSLv3 to mitigate POODLE effects
Arg... that's a problem now..
we are not allowed to complie third party software in our dev enviroment,
we are only allowed to use packages (that's why we use sernet-samba, which
in fairness is great!).
any plan to release a proper patch?

Samba 4 - disabling SSLv3 to mitigate POODLE effects
Good Day All
Sorry if this is a repeated email, but I need some information about how to
disable SSL on a Samba4.2.2 AD domain controller as the nessus scanner is
reporting the POODLE vulnerability and we are not allowed to have any of
that in our environment.
the nessus scan reports poodle vulnerability on all these ports:
443, 636, 3269
I had a look at previous posts but couldn't find a

network design philosophy and practice
I'm wondering how prevalent the practice of physically segregating voice
and data networks is in the Real World.
What are the factors that typically lead to such a decision?
DIscussions of pros and cons are most welcome by me.
Experiences, anybody?
