converting a summary table to survey database form
...sired datafram for anova.
But alas my attempt below does not work:
r<-dim(condomData)[1]
scoreS<-c()
for (i in 1:r) {
score<-as.numeric(condomData[r,])
scoreS<-c(scoreS,s)
}
It just gives me the last row of condomData copied 10 times.
Any help?
Thank you, I really want to know if all condoms are equal.

betareg help
Dear R users,
I'm trying to do betareg on my dataset.
Dependent variable is not normally distributed and is proportion (of condom
use (0,1)).
But I'm having problems:
gyl<-betareg(cond ~ alcoh + drug, data=results)
Error in optim(par = start, fn = loglikfun, gr = gradfun, method = method, :
initial value in 'vmmin' is not finite
Why is R returning me error in optim()?

Book recommendation for newbie to stats and R?
...ee how much I could teach
myself.
I work for an organization that analyses behavior change communication
programs regarding HIV/AIDS and reproductive health. A typical question
we're trying to answer is, "Watching which television programs in South
Africa is related to an increased use of condoms?" All of our work is in
the social sciences, I'd say. I'd like to help analyze our data using R.
I found these titles that may teach me both stats and R:
--Data Analysis and Graphics Using R by John Maindonald, John Braun
--Introductory Statistics with R by Peter Dalgaard

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL
...er security.
While true, that doesn?t tell us that it is a good idea to allow weak passwords.
If you will allow me to return to biology, it?s like saying that prophylaxis is a bad idea because it points out how imperfect our immune systems are. Stop covering your face when you sneeze, stop using condoms, stop going to the dentist: we need stronger humans, so let?s evolve some!

That seems like a falsifiable statement, so I expect you will be able to point to a scientific paper that supports that a...

Audio issue(s)
I just bought a new (refurbished) Everexe StepNote laptop with a VIA
C7-M CPU and a VIA chipset, installed CentOS 5.4 on it and the audio
is not working.
I looked around for a sound driver for the VIA vt1708/a, which is what
it claims to have (see below), but that didn't work either.
Any pointers as to what I'm missing?

Wireless Mic System
I have used several Shure systems, a few Sennheisers and a few
AudioTechnica systems.
Do not expect any of these systems, even the highest end, to be
anywhere as reliable as a wired mic. As the years went on, I
generally moved higher and higher end to try to weed out problems I
had with units that were due to design or unit flaws. I've been out
of the biz for a few years now (since my kids

hack / spam/ probe /attack
so last night all my servers were severely probed and they tried to
violate me (lol)
the attack was so egregious I decided to contact the isp for that ip.
Telepacific.
The ip has some google searches that point to a few spam and a few
attacks...So i assume a compromised server.
So I sent them the info and said it must be a hacked server (the ip is
on their business network)
they responded

It's not just an imperfect analogy it really doesn't work on closer scrutiny.
Malware itself is not a good analog to antigens. Vaccinations provide

Sennheiser is a reputable brand. The model you cited is in their lowest cost series. I have sold a number of these systems over the years. Their first generation (not G2) were problematic in not being very durable. I don't have as much experience with the G2, but the few we have sold have worked fine for several years.
