strange way of forwarding to another stream.
Just a kinda question on a random thought I was having. Would it make sense, or be concievably plausible to write a plugin for winamp, or other Icecast2 client to read a comment in the Ogg Vorbis file to automatically open a new stream when the stream/file has finished playing- eg, client starts/downloads the ad stream/file for the server broadcasting the stream, vorbis file contains tag along the

Print Options & CUPS - Can't stop watermarking?
...the printers (HP LaserJets 4000 and 8000) via LPR has no watermark. Printing through the samba spool, either with the automatically downloaded drivers I put on the print$ share -OR- with locally loaded drivers always results in the watermark getting added, even though it's turned of in all concievable places. Any thoughts? -John

package development
I'm making the move of the survival package from my own environment to, and have stumbled into a vacuum. The R Extensions manual has really nice instructions about how to lay out the directories, order the files, and run tests for DISTRIBUTION of a product, but I can't find anything on how to set up a reasonable DEVELOPMENT environment. In my local world, I had the .c and .s files in

HELP?
...ust can't get the pain in the butt to appear on browse lists. I think the first problem is that nmbd is not looking up anything. When I do an nmblookup it can't resolve anything that I see on my roomates browser lists... nmblookup seems to not look at the wins stuff... I have read every concievable piece of documentation and I guess I just don't get it... I have played with almost every varriable and still it doesn't work!!! I am almost becoming a non-believer in Samba over this one... it has taken me over a week to try and fix this problem...

Hi, I see that 6.x release is out. UEFI support is included. How can I boot Windows 2008 through EFI? What steps of configuration pxelinux I should follow? Also can I boot both BIOS and EFI client from one pxelinux environment? My configuration is syslinux(pxelinux) + ISC dhcp. Thanks.

MANAGESIEVE patch v2
Hello Timo, Dispite the heat out here, I managed to come up with a new version of the managesieve patch for dovecot-1.0rc2: - Fixed the bug (missing CRLF) in the authenticate command - Modified the sieve storage library making the interface much less crude. - The scripts put on the server using the putscript command are now checked before they are accepted. - The reported SIEVE capability is

[fdo] Haiku - FreeDesktop.org cooperation proposal
...ng conventions, so by design some standards cannot be applied as is. However we believe we can cooperate on several points: * Haiku can certainly adhere to some freedesktop.org standards where it is relevant. For example, we currently have our own mime database, inherited from BeOS, but it is concievable to reuse existing freedesktop.org provided types in some way, and contribute some new types. The VAAPI is also an interesting standard we could adhere to, besides, as noted on the wiki, "The current interface is [...] window system independent, so that potentially it can be used with grap...

maildir++ specification compliance.
Hi folks. I was doing some testing this morning and realized Dovecot RC2 isn't fully compliant with the maildir++ specification. Most notably, it appears that Dovecot isn't creating a "maildirfolder" file (0 byte length) in folders it creates. >From http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/README.maildirquota.html "Within each subdirectory there's an empty file,

strange way of forwarding to another stream.
This goes back a couple of months in the list.. But below refers to the idea of forwarding streams. *Is* there currently any way (with mp3 or ogg) to force the client to a new stream?? Is the "forward directive" referred to below in use by anything, if so what? And how is it implemented? This seems like a very useful thing to be included in a spec. And it doesn't seem

1.5TB ext3 partitions - mke2fs problems at 2^31 blocks
I am trying to get a 9550SX to support a 1.5TB raid partition. I am unsure whether this is a driver problem, or an ext3 problem (as am getting some other wierdness detecting LUNs), but... fdisk recognizes the disk OK. I make a single extended partition with a single 1.5TB logical partition inside it. I then run mke2fs -j /dev/sdb It gets to writing inode tables, and wants to write 11176 block

Need a recommendation on a good motherboard/processor combination
I need a recommendation on a good motherboard/processor combination. I would like a motherboard that has lots of PCI slots and works well with Asterisk without problems getting drivers working, etc. Onboard LAN would be nice to keep from using a slot. Plan to use RedHat 8 for the OS. Please provide your input as soon as possible. I need to build a demo box with 2 ports FXO and use the new

Intermittent ext3 corruption on external firewire Micronet 1.5Tb RAID on FC3
Hi I have a Firewire connected Micronet 1.5TB RAID with a single large ext3 filesystem on one partition on a dual Xeon system. I am checking out from an extremely large cvs repository (don't ask) to this drive over the course of many days, and intermittently I get bad blocks and the filesystem goes read-only. This is not related to any power failure or anything similar. The RAID is currently
