how to concatinate the elements of some text vectors cat() or print() ?
...to do this, yet it must be very easy. I have played around with cat() and print with no success. Would someone kindly point out where I am going wrong? Thanks Simple Example: aa <- LETTERS[1:5] bb <- letters[1:5] cat(aa[1], bb[1]) # works for individuals cat(aa,bb) #(concatinates entire vectors) # Using sink I might get it to work if I could figure out how to escape a # new line command. encodeString does not seem appropriate here. harry <- c(rep(NA,5)) for (i in 1:5 ) { cat (aa[i],bb[i]) }

using a web server?
This is a stupid question... Why would one use a streaming audio server versus just a web server to stream static files like a juke box? Here are some reasons I came up with: 1) A web server won't concatinate songs together, but if someone is only downloading say a one-off clip, perhaps a web server is exactly what is needed 2) Titles (or rather meta-data) don't get inserted into the

Load latency, file count, and a proposal
Hey All, So now that we''re up to 7 files, and hopefully more coming as the project grows, minimizing load latency seems much more important. Maybe it''s time to consider creating a single file distribution, much like what prototype.js is (a concatination of 6 or so other files)? re: packaging suggestions *) scriptaculous_only.js - all of the scriptaculous components w/o

The Agile Book Messageboard?
Hello. Where is there an Agile Messageboard? On the first part of the Depot example, a price field shouldn''t be an integer right? (it should be more of a float since a price has decimals) Dominic Son -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Merging Ogg streams whilst updating the Skeleton?
Oh, sorry, I completely misunderstood. You want to make them time-parallel streams! I would merge them with oggz-merge without skeleton and then add skeleton using oggindex e.g. http://git.xiph.org/?p=OggIndex.git;a=summary . (oggindex is also available from http://firefogg.org/nightly/ ) Hope that helps. Silvia. On Sat, Aug 23, 2014 at 3:35 PM, Nick Burch <ogg at gagravarr.org> wrote:

I have Storage-SAN of HDS(AMS500), and I want to do striping on luns from the storage. I don''t want any raid-5(because I have one on the disks in the HDS storage). I only want to do strip on 2 luns(25GB each) that cames from different controllers and deffrent fiber channel port(dual HBA). I test the preformance by writing 512MB in to the zfs, with 2 luns striped(each lun from diffrent

FOP Asterisk Manager Login Failed?
Hi - I've told lots of people about the Flash Operator Panel before, but I've never actually used it myself. I've got it all set up nicely, but I can't seem to authenticate to the asterisk manager (which is running on the same box). When I set the op_server.pl to give debug messages, it shows that it can reach the asterisk manager, but cannot authenticate: ** Asterisk

Second Copy 2000 problem
Hi All, I have upgraded a customer from windows 2000 to samba 3.0.4 on fedora core 2. Second copy refuses to work. The log files seem to indicate that it's trying to access the sharename minus one character. Second Copy tech support are idiots, of course.... Basically we have a share called data. When trying to access the share from second copy the log says can't see service

Improving name-truncation detection
I've got a patch that changes f_name_to() to return an unsigned int (like snprintf() and strlcpy() do) and adds checking to ensure that we didn't overflow the name before we try to use it: http://www.blorf.net/name-overflow.patch If anyone would care to check out the following patch before I commit it, please do. ..wayne..

Search within a file
Hi, I am looking for a way to search a file for position of some expression, from within R. My current code: sha1Pos = gregexpr("<sha1>", readChar(filename, file.info(filename)$size))[[1]] Works fine for small files, but text files I will be working with might get up to Gb range, so I was trying to accomplish the same without loading the whole file into R. Merging Ogg streams whilst updating the Skeleton?
Hi All I'm currently trying to put together an ogg file with two theora streams, a handful of audio streams (probably mixed vorbis and opus), and a Skeleton stream that describes their relationships to each other. I had hoped to be able to use the oggz suite of tools, but I can't seem to get that to work. To generate my theora files, I'm using ffmpeg2theora, which will happily

Large files and symlinks
Hi, I'm mirroring a single server to multiple clients. Currently I'm using scp, but I (think I) want to use rsync. The files I'm mirroring are large - c.4GB (video data) Each client has a different set of these files. The transfer is done over the internet, and may fail (regularly!). I set up a separate directory for each client, and put in symlinks to the actual files (maximum
