Need to start from somewhere
Hello all, since we are sitated in Serbia and Montenegro and Linux, VoIP, Open Source and ECONOMY here are in the diapers. We are traying to start "Asterisk implementation project" and make it available to small people (in small companies, hotels, homes etc). Vorbis on Empeg
The esteemed Emmett seems to have given an integer decoder license to Empeg free of charge. Soon, you'll be able to play Ogg Vorbis in your car. Spectacular. I'm headed to Vorbis.com to donate some cash. I'd like to encourage anyone else who feels the same to do so. http://empeg.comms.net/php/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=hackers_prog&Number=85604

over-allocation of memory
This is probably a really stupid question, but what happens if you have more memory allocated to domU''s than your physical RAM? Will that cause dom0 to crash? DomU''s to crash? Or just slow performance due to swap use on dom0? I ask this because we''ve got high availability clusters running domU''s, and I want to know how much memory is safe to allocate to

Precision of values > 53 bits
Hi, I am working with large numbers and identified that R looses precision for such high numbers. The precision is lost exactly when the number is equal or larger than 53 bits. See the following output which shows that the numbers below 53 bit have proper precision: > 2^53 [1] 9007199254740992 > 2^53-1 [1] 9007199254740991 > 2^53-2 [1] 9007199254740990 Now, see the numbers above 53

If possible, I would like to run the system on unix, alpha, linux computers as well as on IBM's parallel

fitting distributions with R
Dear all I've got the dataset data:2743;4678;21427;6194;10286;1505;12811;2161;6853;2625;14542;694;11491; ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 14924;28640;17097;2136;5308;3477;91301;11488;3860;64114;14334 I know from other testing that it should be possible to fit the data with the exponentialdistribution. I tried to get parameterestimates for the exponentialdistribution with R, but as the values of the parameter
