Tinc1.0pre4 & kernel 2.4.5 & tun/tap
Hi !
I want to setup tinc 1.0 pre4 with kernel 2.4.5 I didn't find
information about settings of tun/tap device
I did
in kernel -

Network device support

in /etc/modules.conf -

Problem withs hosts/ -files & Ethertap with 2.4.x
Hello folks!
I have a little problem when I'm trying to set up a small VPN between two
hosts.
The problem is that when I try to sepcify an IP-adress in
/etc/tinc/netname/hosts/hostfile using Adress = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx syslog says;
Invalid variable name on line 2 while reading config file
/etc/tinc/boppen/hosts/melc
(Line 2 is the Adress = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx line, and melc is the host I'm

Using a tinc vpn as a default route
I have been trying to set up one end of a tinc vpn as a default gateway
for the other and am not having much success.
Given that I have two machines, A and B. I have a working tinc
connection between A and B on an internal network. B has access to
machines on A's subnet using statements such as
Subnet=10.38.9.0/24
Subnet=172.24.100.33/32
A is connected to the internet, B has to go

RedHat initialization script and bash2
Installing the new tinc on a system (Mandrake 7.0) that uses bash2 as it shell
turned up a problem with the redhat initialization script.
Attached is a patch to make it functional for both bash and bash2.

socket leakage patch
We have been fighting with intermittent connections here and have noticed that
tinc seems to use up its supply of file descriptors.

HostA - 10.38.9.2, kernel 2.4.16, tincd from Debian package
HostB - 10.38.9.223, kernel 2.2.17-21mdk, tincd from tarball package.
