Yes. What I think should happen is flags need to be less of a hack. There are two cases,

Performance of the acoustic echo canceller
Hi All, I am working on my master project to port the Speex Acousic Canceller to FPGA. But I am not able to get a satisfied result in its performance whenI integrated it to a SIP softphone as my first step. The SIP softphone calls to a PSTN gateway and lands to my land line phone. I can hear the echo of my every word while I talks on the land line phone. I am using G.711 codec, frame_size 80

[LLVMdev] ADDE on HW that doesn't have flags?
Thanks - that solves both problems. In the future, HW may have built in ADDE support, but will likely still not have flags - it'll just read 3 registers and write two. Any thoughts there? Thanks, Dan On Oct 27, 2008, at 12:07 PM, Andrew Lenharth wrote: > On Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 10:11 AM, Daniel M Gessel <gessel at apple.com> > wrote: >> The language I'm

Vignettes and CRAN checks
...scribed as a white paper. It discusses the adequacy of the Laplace transform under various scenarios. It contains some substantial computations, so I'd like to mark it as "never ever run this" for both CRAN and my local builds, my next update of it will turn it into a 30+ minute compuatation. Almost all users will need only the pdf; however, my master file for creating it is .Rnw form and I'd like to make it available to those who might want to dig deeper. I (and every other program I know of) had always assumed that the Laplace approx was excellent for a mixed effects Cox m...

[LLVMdev] ADDE on HW that doesn't have flags?
Thanks very much for your help. I didn't quite understand how adde really uses flags in, say x86 or any of the other architectures I looked at. It seemed to declare it used EFLAGS, but little else: like how would you feed a zero in for the carry. Or I suppose you would have to start such a sequence off with an addc, and I happened to hit the adde (and it bailed) first (because the

pnorm how to decide lower-tail true or false
Hi to all, maybe the last question was not clear enough. I did not found any hints how to decide whether it should use lower.tail or not. As it is an extra R-feature ( written in http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/66250.html ) I do not find anything about it in any statistical books of me. Regards Carmen

Performance of the acoustic echo canceller
Hi Jean-Marc, Thanks for the suggesting. I tried the test wtih my recording file offline through the testecho. I got the same result(no prepocessor echo suppression) as my recording file for that live call. Basically I don't see the difference between input_frame and output_frame. As I mentioned in my original post, the echo return loss is about 20db. I guess the echo cancelleris not really

Performance of the acoustic echo canceller
All, Wonder why all my posts has no line breaker when it displayed the forum... I used Hotmail(Windows Live Mail) with FireFox 2.0. I am posting this msg with IE 7.0 and see if it make any difference. Anybody experienced the same issue and how to workaround it? Thanks a lot! Plotting patient drug timelines using ggplot2 (or some other means) -- Help!!!
Hello All, Want very much to learn how to plot patient drug timelines. Trouble is I need to figure out how to do this today. So not much time for me to struggle with it. Hoping someone can just help me out a bit. Below are some sample data and code that produces what I think is the beginning of a very nice graph. Need to alter the code to: 1. Get the lines for the drugs to appear on the

Bounding ellipse for any set of points
After a lot of effort I developed the following function to compute the bounding ellipse (also known a as minimum volume enclosing ellipsoid) for any set of points. This script is limited to two dimensions, but I believe with minor modification the algorithm should work for 3 or more dimensions. It seems to work well (although I don't know if can be optimized to run faster) and
