R-Project build system: DESTDIR support
Hello,
I am writing you about the GNU R-Project,
as part of by effort to help GNU projects provide a better, more
consistent build system.
Currently, your project does not support the DESTDIR variable in
generated Makefiles (marked as optional in the GNU coding policies, make and
automake manual).
In my opinion, DESTDIR support can be very helpful for the user, the

additional compiler hardening flags
Hi all.
Any reason not to turn these on if the system supports them? They're
cheap but not free (a bit under 1% slower to run the complete regress
suite in a completely unscientific test).
They're based on info from these places:

and I've attempted to take the ones that make sense for openssh.
>From my reading, -fPIE should be sufficient since we're not building a
shared library, however having -fPIC to does not seem to hurt....

libxl build errors in xen-unstable
There are new build errors in xen-unstable since revision 23368.
Wether the _libxl_paths.h.tmp/_libxl_paths.h errros/warnings are new, no
idea.
