How does tc communicate with the kernel?
Hi, I am developing on an embedded MIPS-based system; I have iproute2''s ip working correctly talking to the kernel, but tc seems to be broken. I''d like to fix this, but I need a little bit of help in figuring out how tc communictes with the kernel -- can someone tell me the places I should be looking? Thanks. Joseph

Mail history function?
I'm a newbie at Dovecot. For a company groupware I need a kind of a history function for mails to see which user sent which mail to whom / got which mail from whom. So I have to get the message ID of in- and outgoing mails (and write related data to a mysql database). My first idea was to monitor the log file with a daemon and search for strings like "deliver(x at y.z): 2010-11-15

The use for an XML based metadata format
I've been trying to follow the situation here, because that's one of the things I try to do in Xiph: know what's happening. There's a total of 70 messages related with recent metadata discussions. Here's what I have understood so far: * Daniel is still not trying to read and understand the _other_ metadata proposals; he makes several non-true statements regarding them. *

In my opinion, for this purpose it would be more appropriate to store the data separate from the audio files -- perhaps another file in the directory, or in a database. -- -:-:- David K. Cannot log into Samba4 AD/DC with ssh as domain user
>From either a Linux or Mac domain member, I have tried logging into the Samba4 AD server as a domain user: labmac:~ mark$ ssh mark at mail pwd mark at mail's password: Permission denied, please try again. where 'mail' is the AD/DC. It also fails if I am on the AD/DC an try the same ssh. I've tried setting either the GSSAPIAuthentication or KerberosAuthentication in

The use for an XML based metadata format
Ivo, Let's not start finger-pointing, since that's not constructive. I do think we have gotten further than what you are describing. Skeleton, CMML and Vorbiscomment are not sufficient for some people - in particular when there is a more complex piece of metadata to be communicted, e.g. from an archive that stores a lot more information than just name-value pairs. But I agree: the space is complex and creating a good, generic description scheme for e.g. music alone is hard enough, not to speak of the complexity of a generic, but structured annotation scheme for audio and...

OT: "Integrated Access T1" voice problems - is this possible?
Hello, I am currently pricing out various T1 and PRI options for a client of mine. We need voice and data - we want T's. Whether it be two seperate T's, two superate fractional T's, or one combined fractional T, we need it done. We are getting pricing and one provider is telling us that they have quality issues with the "Integrated Access" product. From what they

Cannot install/run very important application
...PC. (The only reason why I still have this PC runnig OS/2). This summer I got the new version which is a WIN-98 (I think). So I cannot use it on OS/2. I tried to install it under Wine on SuSE Linux 7.2 but it didn't work. Another difference between old an new is, that the old one does a direct communictation to the bank's computer via Modem, the new one uses the internet. The modem access will be revoked with 1st December so time is running out. Yesterday I downloaded wine 20011108 and tried it but I have still the same problem: The installation starts, I click through some info-screens but...

how to do java-like hashtables in R, R from a java programmer's p onit of view
...stem's capacity, do troubleshooting, and all sorts of other analysis. I plot things like channel utilisation versus time during the day, arrival and departure rates of calls in the system, arrival rates of different categories of packets, and many other things. I am no statistician (I'm a communictions theory guy who enjoys programming). I have written a lot of software to analyze the raw data in java and I am very attracted to R's interactive ploting and data analysis abilities. I am having a hard time making the connection between how I usually do things in java and how to do things i...

New PBX Help
Hi All, We recently had an old office building burn down. The office housed maybe 20-30 people. Only about 10 or so of those had their own extensions. We had a standard pbx from an area communications company, and I'm not quite sure about what kind of phone lines were there, I only know that their were actually 3 phone numbers, but everyone could get an outside line if they needed
