Look at that Digium Broadband Modem!
...t's scary about this is that we probably need to install a fire/smoke detector with the IAXy ;-) IAXy users on this list -- who of you would trust their home/business security to an IAXy? Is there a silent majority who loves this product, or are the over-heating, looking-up issues reported as commonplace as the frequency of the posts would indicate?

missing bnx2x firmware files in Xen4CentOS CentOS6 kernel 3.18.12-11
...bnx2x/bnx2x-e1-7.10.51.0.fw I helped myself by either copying the required firmware-files to the target-machines' /lib/firmware/bnx2x dir and ultimately by adding the files to the source-rpm along with a new Makefile patch and rebuilding the kernel rpms. However, as bnx2x NICs seem quite commonplace these days, I suggest to fix this 'upstream'. If required, I can provide the (trivial) patch. I pulled the firmware-files from a CentOS 7 stock kernel. Using queue priorities to add agents
Hi, I have a scenario that I am failing to implement using the Queue app, but which I had thought would be commonplace... 1) (this bit works fine) I want a queue caller to have access to the basic set of agents initially, with an overflow to additional agents if they are busy - This is done using penalty: queues.conf: member => SIP/dev1,0,Agent1 member => SIP/dev2,0,Agent2 member => SIP/dev3,1,Agent3 is...

How to utilise dual cores and multi-processors on WinXP
Hello, I have a question that I was wondering if anyone had a fairly straightforward answer to: what is the quickest and easiest way to take advantage of the extra cores / processors that are now commonplace on modern machines? And how do I do that in Windows? I realise that this is a complex question that is not answered easily, so let me refine it some more. The type of scripts that I'm dealing with are well suited to parallelisation - often they involve mapping out parameter space by changing...

Windows Guest on KVM running "single core" after windows update
...Since QEMU 6.2, new machine types for x86 will prefer cores, IOW, if you don't specify topology then QEMU would give you sockets=1, cores=nCPUs, threads=1 The rationale for this is that it matches common physical hardware. It is rare to see an x86 machine with 32 sockets, and 1 core, but "commonplace" to see 1 sockets and 32 cores. Many OS have also had/have dubious licensing logic that would refuse to use > 1 sockets, but happily use > 1 cores, so defaulting to cores makes it more likely guest OS would avoid hitting licensing caps. Still none of it explains why a guest OS upgrade...

Is it okay?
...m.ac.in/centos/5.5/isos/i386/ What I want to ask is that 'Release2' is the complete OS and after installation we can use 'yum update'. So at first, is it enough (as I am not going to download the complete set of 7 CDs)? -- Regards, Parshwa Murdia Making the simple complicated is commonplace, making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's innovation.. -C Mingus

[LLVMdev] Simpler types in TableGen isel patterns
...a bad operand in the instruction produced and an assembler error. def : Pat<(and (not i32:$src1), i32:$src2), (ANDN32rr i32:$src1, i32:$src2)>; This shouldn't currently be an issue, but I am trying to look far down the road. Let's say that predicated execution becomes commonplace down that road and it's now more beneficial to select patterns on register classes, rather than types. To be clear, this is more a thought experiment than a critique. Making your change won't impact my work and I don't feel strongly for, nor against, this change. -Cameron -----------...

Good news: BackgrounDRb now works on Windows
...d appreciate advice and help from you all on things like: - how to test my changes. When I run rake it just exits without running any tests. I''m not sure why. I also don''t know how to test Packet. - how to send a patch. I mostly do Windows development where textual patches are not commonplace. But I did submit a patch to Rails that was accepted, so at least I''ve done it once with success. :-) - a code review to make sure I''m doing things in an approved way - someone with *nix to make sure I didn''t break anything by accident. I tried hard to not but you can...

SIP proxy screwing up peer addresses.
...act: <sip:asterisk at 84.75.148.xxx> Again this is not the contact address. I see this often, that with SIP, the local part of a peer address is just changes, and I think it's similar to email header rewriting. However, header rewriting is rare and somewhat frowned upon, so why is it so commonplace with SIP? -- martin | http://madduck.net/ | http://two.sentenc.es/ "die zeit f?r kleine politik ist vorbei. schon das n?chste jahrhundert bringt den kampf um die erdherrschaft." - friedrich nietzsche spamtraps: madduck.bogus at mad...

Help with routes
Switching our routes file from Rails2 to Rails3 DSl uncovered an odd situation, of my own making, but I am having some difficultly imagining how to fix it. Basically I have a commonplace: user -> user_role (clearance) <- role type arrangement where: User has_many :roles, :through => :clearances has_many :clearances Clearance belongs_to :role belongs_to :user and Role has_many :users, :through => :clearances has_many :clearances What I am trying to...
