This would be of great interest to us as it would show Linux/Samba to be a viable solution instead of going exclusively with a Windows-server-based setup. TIA, Marion D. smbmount question
Hi, I'm running Linux 2.2.2 w/ Samba 2.0.2, using the smbmount that comes with Samba 2.0.2. I noticed that when I mount shares, smbmount sticks around, almost like a daemon: [root@jason /root]# smbmount //XXXX.gatech.edu/XXXX$ "XXXXXX" -U jkau -c "mount /mnt/cnd" < /dev/null > /tmp/smbmount.out [root@jason /root]# ps ax | grep smbmount 10678 ? Darwine or Wine? New to Mac, Install/Uninstall/File issues.
I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.6.4 Snow Leopard. I recently installed Darwine, and then installed a new program, Bowl Bound College Football. Even installed the patch afterwards. So far, so good. Now my problem, is that this program creates an export file to send to a league commissioner, that they can then import. I can't find the file path in Finder, or any of the files for the program period. Because it'll need me to extract files every 'sim' into the folder. What I'm wondering, first, is how I can find it? I've looked at all the FAQs and wikis, and...

Question setting up a "bat phone" extension.
Basically, I am looking to set up an extension which will be used as a "help-line". I want it to function kind of like the bat phone from the old Batman series, where Commissioner Gordon would pick up the extension in his office and it would ring the phone back at Wayne's mansion. Is there a way to duplicate this functionality with Asterisk? I just need asterisk to auto-dial an extension when I go off-hook on another one. For instance, I have two SIP phones, Brian and...

Powell resigns
...FCC regardless of who won the presidency. In January, industry insiders had described Powell's remaining term as Chairman as a matter of "weeks." Now Washington insiders are playing the game of who will replace Powell at the FCC, with the inside track being given to either current FCC commissioner Kevin Martin or Becky Klein, former head of the Texas Public Utility Commission. dipura 2002 auto dial or intercom
Guys. Anybody using sipuras 2002 knows if there is a way to make the phones connected to it to autodial an extension when the phone is picked up? For example, if the phone is on a police booth (building entrance) and you want the guys to just pick up the phone and make the phone auto dial the receptionist extension without the guys having to dial anything (ala batphone). Is this possible with

Heineken Face EU Fines for Curbing Rivalry
...Danish beer markets from 1993 to 1996. The European Union's antitrust regulator said evidence collected in raids two years ago showed the two brewers broke EU law by agreeing not to sell ``intensively'' in each other's territory. The companies denied the allegations. Competition Commissioner Mario Monti is cracking down on price fixing in industries from vitamins to papermaking. He took on Europe's beer industry last year with a 47 million euro ($41 million) fine against Interbrew SA, the Belgian maker of Stella Artois. ``We wouldn't be surprised if there were a fine on Heine...

We did some tests with msdfs on HP/UX with samba version 2.2.1.a and we found a strange problem. We create a msdfs root on a HP/UX system with samba version 2.2.1.a and create a link in it to an HP/UX system with samba version 2.0.7. We mapped the link in the msdfs root on a NT4 system to drive F. The share contains the source of samba and in explorer we went to :

RFC 2822 - message-id

Because of this, all the messages are forever different. All mail is delivered from postfix and will be in the future. But I'm asking which of these syntaxes is correct or if there is

Dfs - Load Balancing
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using the Dfs functionality within Samba. I've been searching for any performance information and or documentation regarding Dfs in particular load balancing i.e. 1) How does it load balance? Is it some sort of round robin? 2) Is there a limit to the number of servers that can used in the load balance? 3) How many requests per
