Postfix relay on Comcast
How to get postfix working on CentOS 6 and Comcast. Recently, they've changed their policies regards email relay and require authentication even to send email. (they no longer use IP address ranges, presumably in an attempt to curb outgoing SPAM) I didn't see an updated howto anywhere on the Interwebs, thought I'd point out what I...

Plugins
...ch is handy when used with the plane plugin. I like the plane plugin in a 3x3 matrix matching the keypad, so with the keypad and some modifier keys I can move the viewport or the active window to another viewport layed out like the keypad. I find this to be an intuitive way to work. http://home.comcast.net/~moppsy/compiz/put.c http://home.comcast.net/~moppsy/compiz/put.schemas http://home.comcast.net/~moppsy/compiz/Makefile.put The neg plugin makes stuff negative. This is a bit of a hack, the code is borrowed from paint.c and adjusted to draw the window texture negative. I tried real hard to f...

BIND9/DNS lookups stopped working after upgrading our Comcast modem/gateway
OK here's our setup, we're running pfSense as our firewall/router. We have a dual-WAN with a Comcast Business Gateway and another local ISP. We're running Samba 4.7.6 as the AD DC & Bind 9.9.4. Here's the issue, we just upgraded our Comcast service to a higher speed & they replaced the modem/gateway. Everything was working fine, before the modem swap. Once they did that we coul...

DNS is confusing! (I really need some help understanding!)
OK, I am confused and DNS is the reason. So, Comcast, 13 public IP's bound to my modem. Each public IP has a DNS name from comcast (they assign it automatically) like: 173.13.167.209 --> 173-13-167-209-sfba.hfc.comcastbusiness.net I created a DNS entry at GoDaddy for 173.13.167.209 that is 'inhouse.theindiecompanyllc.com' When...

Dual ISP config: How to forward DNS requests to the proper server?
I''m using Shorewall with a load-balanced muti-ISP config along with LSM for failover. It''s working great, except for DNS requests. I''d appreciate some advice on how to best configure this. The WAN connections are a T1 through XO and a cable connection through Comcast. About 80% of the traffic is routed out the Comcast connection under normal connections. I would like to ensure that DNS requests that leave the Comcast interface are routed to Comcast''s DNS servers and vice versa for XO. I know I can add some entries in tc-rules, but this only solves p...

Changing the imaps port #
Yes, I am pretty sure about that. I originally was connected via AT&T DSL but wanted the fast access of cable modem. I need permanent IPs which required me to contract with Comcast buisness. Once I switched over, I was no longer able to access my imap server, which was as I mentioned, stunnel listening on the imaps port and forwarding to dovecot listening on the imap port. I was getting connection refused on my laptop (thunderbird) email client when I was not at home. I va...

Howto install Centos6/7 Comcast WA/OR
Has anyone managed to install a Centos6 or Centos7 in Washington or Orgegon, or anywhere else that Comcast has deployed the IPV6to4 routers. The router in question is a Xfinity DCP3939 Router with Wireless, and I'm trying to get a Centos system working behind that router (with a wired connection), and enable SSH access from outside. Does one have to enable both IPV6 and IPV4? Can I enable IPV6...
