wine/conf file - how to access COM port for modem
Help please,
Adding "COM4:"="/dev/ttyS0" to wine/conf file doesn't seem to do the
trick - comms program installed in wine still says "communication port
cannot be opened" - any ideas on how to access the modem please?
Thanks,
Andy

Serial Port Access
Hi,.
I have some legacy applications for MSDOS / 95 and a new NT version of an
application that i would like to use.
I have un-commented the lines in wine.conf about serial access but i cant
seem to get any MSDOS or win32 application to talk, is this currently
supported in (the lateset) wine ?

Printer Permissions Problem
...f the printer when viewing \\DC\Printers and Faxes\PrinterName,
Most of the tabs are disabled.
I was able to install the drivers some time ago. But not any more.
The more weird thing is that for some of the network printers,
the Ports tab of the Properties Pages lists
"LPT1,LPT2,LPT3,COM1,...COM4,FILE" and for the others it
lists "Samba Printer Port". Infact, the ones for which the drivers
are already installed on the network (which I did a week ago) show
the "LPT1,..." list while those printers which I just added
to the printcap file by hand, display "Samba Pr...

RE: [PATCH] - make qemu serial summagraphics settings a bitmore fluid
Ben-
I like the idea but I don''t understand how this patch can work:
1) You never put a name into `serial_devices[]'' for the summa port.
The loop in `main'' that initializes the serial devices only calls
`qemu_chr_open'' if there''s a string name in `serial_devices''. How did
you get this to work?
2) Minor point, I don''t see the need

NUT + OpenBSD + dc2500cc + APC Smart-UPS SC620 = problem
...and everything worked.
I guess there is something wrong with serial ports on d2500cc, or maybe I am not using them correctly. There are 4 ports on the board, 2 with DB9 connectors on the back and 2 on the board itself. By default, port numbering starts from the headless ones, so DB9s are com3 and com4. There is a special setting in BIOS which swaps headless ports with DB9s, making DB9s com1 and com2. I tried all combinations without any luck. What is strange is that OpenBSD kernel detects 2 ports only, not 4, so I do not exclude a problem with OpenBSD kernel driver.
Funny thing is that I picked...
