4 smoothed lines on xyplot

four solid lines of different colors but when I try to use a white
background the lines change to dots and dashs. When I don't use a white
background it seems to use the solid colors lines.

differentiate groups on barplot
To differentiate between groups on the barplot, I guessed that col =
colr[test$group] would have worked. How can I do this?

Colors vector based on group
Hi everyone.
I have a vector like this:
x =
c(1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2)
I would like to associate a colour to each of these entry. For example, I
could use /topo.colors(3)/ (since I have 3 groups).
I know it is easy to do this with /if/else/ statements, but I would like to
find a proper way to do this.
