Too many open files when using clearcase
FYI:
I'm using samba 2.0.6 for clearcase interoperation between Unix and NT,
and while it works
great 99% of the time, I run into a problem whenever I do a complete build
on an NT system,
which involves compiling ~1500 files. The first 1100 or so are compiled
correctly, but then the following
errors show up on the NT box:
The system cannot open the
device or file specified.

Question about username maps in Samba
I'm hoping someone can suggest a solution for this interesting problem I've
run across....
I work within a multi-Unix environment. We've got HP-UX, Solaris, Linux,
and Tru64 (!) here. Because of this, some of our users have multiple
logins, so that they can have multiple user environments for the product
development scripts that they run. One of our Sun boxes serves as our Samba

How to configure krb5 for multiple domains or domain and its sub-domains
Hi All,
I've configured my samba server (3.5.11) working and joined to my domain pc.example.com. Every user of pc.example.com is able to view the shared folders and files of my samba server without any problem.
However, the users of my sub-domains Europe.pc.example.com and Asia.pc.example.com could not connect and view the shared folders of my samba server. They were prompted for the

Force group syntax for multiple groups
Hi All,
What is the syntax of option "force group" for multiple groups? Is there any one can help me on this? I really appreciate it. I want to give the permission the shared directory to multiple groups but I don't know what is its syntax.
I already tried "force group = group1, group2, group3" but it did not work.
Thanks
Anh.

I'm facing this problem right now. I've posted my issue from the below links. Could you please let me know how you did and your smb.conf & krb5.conf files If you already got

Cannot delete existing files in shared folder
Hi All,
We've upgraded our DC to Windows 2008 R2 from Windows 2003 recently. Since then the users cannot modify or delete the existing files in the Samba shared directories after the Samba server(samba 3.5.9) is joined to 2008 R2 DC from the windows machines, but they are able to create/modify/delete the new directories/files from the windows machines. However, when the samba server is joined

smbd daemon crash when connect to shared folder
Hi All,
I've installed and configured Samba 3.5.11 on a Solaris 8 machine. I was able to join it to the 2008 R2 AD. However, its smbd daemon is crashed everytime I connect to its shared folder from the windows machine, so I'm not able to connect to its shared folders. Below is its log from smb.log file. Is there anyone has any idea what cause the problem? I appreciate very much
