gnutls bug
I am running centos6.4. Where do I find the updated gnutls packages? I see the updated source file here: http://vault.centos.org/6.5/updates/Source/SPackages/ But I don't see the correct version of the packages in the 6.4 tree here: http://vault.centos.org/6.4/updates/x86_64/Packages/ Where should I be looking for the updated package for 6.4? Thanks. -- -MichaelC

Three NIC problem
Hi! I have setup a router with 3 NIC: inet->eth0->eth1-local_users ->eth2-DMZ_server I have also setup dhcp and DNS on the router. DHCP is server only for eth1 while on eth2 I have static IP address. So everything works except connecting local_users on eth1 to Samba shares on the server in DMZ by server name. Yes, I have it in my DNS records to point to it and with nslookup

TukeyHSD no longer working with aov output?
I can prove I've done this before, but I recently installed Rexcel (and it was easiest to reinstall R and some other bits to make it work) and now its no longer working. Before I would do an ANOVA and a tukey post-hoc like this: >data1.aov=aov(result~factor1*factor2, data=data1) then... >TukeyHSD(summary(data1.aov)) and it would give me a nice tukey table of all the pairwise

Shorewall under xen
Hi All It''s about time to upgrade my shorewall routers again so thinking of possible changes. In our main office have managed switches and 5 xen servers. I''m thinking of running the firewall/router under xen. Don''t have all the details figured out but this is roughly what I''m thinking of: Set up separate vlan for the two isps and plug isps into the switch.

OT: 1gigabit Nics
Begging indulgence of the list - asking here because due to the higher likelyhood of getting an answer... I have an application that often loses connection from one machine to another when one (or more) of the machines has particular brands of 1gig nics, but which runs rock solid when on 10meg nics and some 1 gig nics. The application senses (falsely) that the connection has been shut down

Advice please - best hardware/config to combine 3 ISPs
I want to build a robust firewall for a resort installation. The resort''s telephony is entirely VOIP, asterisk based. We have the following internet feeds: 1) 512/512 kb fixed bandwidth leased line with static IP from Telco- primary connection, expensive, to use for VOIP, VPN traffic, mail server, SSH access for remote work. Reliable. 2) 256/512 kb ADSL from Telco, not fixed IP -

Setting overcommit_memory=2 kills system
Hello, In general I am in the habit of turning off memory overcommit because I believe it's a bad thing in a multi-user environment. This was never a problem on rhel5 systems, but on rhel6, I am having issues. When I try to set overcommit_memory=2, my system locks up. It basically behaves as if the memory is all used up... I see the same behavior on centos6 or rhel6. Following is

FTP transfers locking up Shorewall
Hi, I have an interesting problem I was not able to solve, even after looking through the site''s documentation and searching on this mailing list...so here it is: I have an FTP server behind my Shorewall box, in my LAN (I know, bad security practice), and ports are mapped through DNAT rules. Now, whenever I transfer big files, at high, sustained data rates (~40-50KB/s), Shorewall seems

Network slowdown
Hello, I''m not subscribed to this list, but would like to ask a question. When I conduct a network speed test from the following location http://www.timewarnerla.com/speedtest/speedtest.asp with firewall started I get no more than 1 Mbps at best, while without one I get 4 Mbps. I have a RCA DCM325 cable modem from RoadRunner. I''m using Shorewall 2.2.0-Beta3. My OS is SuSe 9.1

Shorewall 4.4.6 and Multiple ISP with 2 routed subnets
Hello, I have 2 ISP uplinks (zones: inet1 and inet2), each with a fixed IP on the outside and a routed subnet (/25 and /26) on the inside. So, behind the firewall i have 2 networksegments (lan1 and lan2) with public IP-addresses. The segments are completely isolated from eachother: hosts in zone "lan1" connect only to "inet1" and hosts in zone "lan2" only connect

Bug in Kerberos support for openssh.
It took me a while to track this down. I am using MIT Kerberos 1.4.3 and libgssapi-0.7. With some patches that came with Suse 10, but that doesn't appear to be relevant. I have been using openssh-4.2p1 (with Simon's patches) and openssh-4p3p2 out of the box. I see the same problem no matter which version of openssh I am using. I am using two Suse Linux x86 boxes as a test

virtual serveres
I am in the process of building a new machine to replace several older servers. I am considering running several virtual servers on one box, all linux for host and virtual machines using VirtualBox. Is it possible/advisable to configure shorewall on the host to act as a firewall for the virtual machines, each having one or more static public IP address? Any pointers, suggestions and/or

Server with shorewall hangs - 2 ISP config
Hi all, I''ve a little server, an old PIII 677 with Fedora Core 4, default kernel, and Shorewall 3.0.1. This pc is working fine, but I need to use a 2nd ISP connection; everything is working from configuration point of view, but the server, after a while (usually few hours), just hangs. Removing the 2-ISP configuration part, the problem is solved, so I''m quite sure that hangs are

Port forwarding/DNAT of broadcast packets?
Hi folks, Has anyone out there done port forwarding or DNAT for UDP packets that are normally sent to the broadcast address (255.255.255.255)? I have to support a nasty database application called FileMaker Pro (those of you who know it are probably groaning about now), which uses broadcasts to locate the database server. Theoretically, i can get around this requirement by using LDAP lookups
