Vorbis I spec errata: single entry codebooks
..., r16073 of the
reference implementation explicitly special-cased single-entry
codebooks to tolerate the
single-entry case. Commit r16073 also added the following to the specification:
"Take special care that a codebook with a single used entry is
handled properly; it consists
of a single codework of zero bits and reading a value out of such a
codebook always returns
the single used value and sinks zero bits. ?
The intent was to clarify the spec and codify current practice.
However, this addition is
erroneously at odds with the intent of preserving usability of
existing streams using sing...

Outbound calling with TDM400P
I am trying to place an analog outbound call from a Sipura SPA-841
through a * server with a TDM400P and 4 FXO's. When I call in from an
analog line everything works fine, I can talk over the SIP phone. When
I call out, * says:
== Spawn extension (from-sip, [phonenumber], 1) exited non-zero on

RE: License Metering Software to work with SAMBA
...we have
invested in setup and configuration. However, the reporting capability is a
requirement for our firm. Therefore, we are considering switching to
another software metering application. We are currently reviewing the
following:
Keyserver from Sassafras Software
Application Metering from Codework
If anyone has a suggestion to correct / workaround the above file locking
sequence or has experience with these or other software metering
applications, I would greatly appreciate your comments (good & bad).
Thanks,
Tom

How to tunnel Samba via ssh from Windows XP without having to disable local NetBIOS
...h printer driver to use, depends on your local setup; note that
\\222.222.222.222\printername does not work here, which is why the lmhosts
name is needed).
If you use this set-up a lot, you may also want to know the right way to
set up PuTTY to authenticate with an SHA key. It is given here
http://codeworks.gnomedia.com/westhost/ssh.php , but, as recommended in
the PuTTY docs, do not omit a pass phrase on your private key file. Once
everything is set up, you can load the PuTTY private key into 'Pageant'
(the PuTTY key manager) just once by double clicking on it. From then on,
while Pageant is...

SELinux - way of the future or good idea but !!!
Hi,
total newbie on CentOS. Just firing up an install of 5.5 on a development webserver. Installed Webmin, Awstats, PHPMyAdmin and Drupal successfully. Yet to work on Sendmail and Samba. SELinux in enforcing mode, reporting "SELinux preventing ifconfig (ifconfig_t) "read write" to /var/webminsessiondb.pag (var_t)".
Googled the error message without real success in finding fix

PHP vs RubyOnRails newbie concerns/questions
Hi all,
I''m planning to bring a new app. to market, and I''m more the designer
and business manager than the programmer for this project. We are
deciding that technologies to use, and so I asked my programmer to
take a look at RubyOnRails. Below are his first impressions. Could
anyone with more experience on these matters kindly offer any response
to the issues he raises?
