HELP: SAMBA eats too many Unix resources!!!
Hi all, I've a BIG problem on a Unix SunOS 4.1.4 running SAMBA (samba-1.9.18p3) in order to export some file systems to WindowsNT client machines. email stuck in outbox
Can anyone here help me out with a client side Outlook issue? I know outlook is a horrible imap client :( We intermittently have a problem where mail gets "stuck" in Outlook users' outboxes. Might have anything to do with dovecot? Is there anyway I can troubleshoot this server side? Are there any settings I can tweak? We have a new and an old dovecot server (see below) and both

Why is my kernel eating my memory
Can someone, more learned in the ways of dtrace point me at what to look at to help understand why the kernel on one machine is using tons of memory, while another machine doing the same task/same user load is not. swapinfo for the "afflicted" machine shows RAM _______Total 16384 Mb RAM Unusable 73 Mb RAM Kernel 9226 Mb RAM Locked 2 Mb RAM Used

Samba replacing NFS
Hi, I have a number of web servers that mount their /htdocs (and /log and /cgi-bin) directories from a large file server. I am currently using NFS for this. The web servers are Linux, the file server a Sun E450. NFS seems dreadfully slow, and I keep reading about how it doesn't do file locking. Is there a good reason not to simply use samba, and share the volumes with samba from the Sun, and
