Windows 7 as guest on a physikal disk
Hallo,
I have an installed Windows 7 on one partition
and running Debain Squeeze on the other. Both are 64 bit.
I want to use Xen to run Windows as virtual guest from
a physical disk. Once I get this working the Window will
never be booted directly.
When I try to create the virtual machine by
"xm create -c win.xen"
it hangs.
The versions I use
Xen 4.0.1-4
Kernel 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64

Some users can't log in -- server shows username as " nobody"
Hi
I actually had this same problem when running up samba originally.
Check that the user has a valid unix acount and that you have added that to
the folder share/valid users section.

A problem about ICMP Destination Unreachable
Hello,
I have installed samba in a
Linux RedHat 8.0 PC in my lab
as a file server. The clients
of samba are PCs with MS Windows98.
Now I meet some problems, I can see
samba server name in Network Neighborhood,
but when I click the icon, I get this
error message after a long delay:
Cannot link to Linuxserver(server name).
And I used Ethereal to track the packets
to find the problem, I found that

Linux as a workstation client
I'm exploring the idea of using Linux as a workstation OS for some of the
users where I work. Most of the issues I've looked at seem resolvable, but
I keep running into one sticking point. We rely heavily on shared folders
on our Samba server, using ACLs to restrict things on a departmental basis.
What I'd need is a way to mount these folders with the permissions of the

Windows 2008 R2 64 bit BSoD
Hello.
I''m trying to get the lastest GPLPV binary (rev 238) working on an
Ubuntu Server host with Xen 4, but I''ve got some problems. The guest
is a 64 bit Windows 2008 R2.
After enabling test mode and rebooting, installing and rebooting again
(with /NOGPLPV) I can see all the Xen devices, but two (out of three)

Goldmine to launch OOo to format a template document for sending to a
fax or printer. I would prefer to launch the native OOo for Linux
rather than running OOo for Windows using wine.
Any suggestions? Or am I out of luck ?

I have tried saving share information under User Account administration

Starting basic HVM -- where am I going wrong?
I''ve been using Xen strictly for PV for a while now, but I recently upgraded to hardware capable of HVM domUs. I''m trying to get a really basic HVM instance going so I can get my hands around making them work, in anticipation of using one to run a BSD to act as a firewall for other domUs on the machine. (I like PF.) Also, I might need run windows at some point, I suppose.

How does Linux see Windows servers?
So now that I'm looking at Linux as an alternative people tell me to use
Samba. It seems to be that Samba is so Windows can see *nix servers. I
need for my Linux desktops to access Windows servers.
What are my options?
Thanks,

DomU can''t be destroyed
Hi All,
I have searched for a bit and haven''t found anything. I am having an issue
with DomU''s persisting (even after a reboot) that aren''t running, and can''t
be destroyed. Problem is I cant create one with the same name either. This
is Xen 3.3.0 on Centos 5.2.
