Hello, I'm migrating from Windows 2003 Active Directory to a Samba 3 PDC and would like to avoid recreating passwords for all of my users. Is it possible to copy the Windows user accounts or just the passwords from the Windows box to Samba? I've read about the pwdump.exe tool, but can't find any reports of it working on Windows 2003 and am not sure if Active Directory stores

Is it possible to configure Samba so that when a new Windows machine joins the Samba domain it will have a UID in a certain range? I'd like the machine accounts to have a different range than user accounts. Thanks, Charles

Hello, For Unix Password Sync, I am curios how Samba can provide the passwd program with an unencrypted password. If a Windows user presses Control+Alt+Delete and changes their password, are the passwords sent over the network in plain text? Does Samba decrypt the password, then provide it to the passwd program?
