Connection gets closed after just a few seconds "smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1150)"
...If I use the IP address to map the share then everything works just like
normal (the connection stays open for an hr). But if I use the hostname
or FQDN to map the share then the connection is closed after just a few
seconds of idle time.
So if I map the share like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\clund>net use Z: \\10.0.88.187\refprod
The command completed successfully.
Then everything works fine.
But if I map the share like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\clund>net use Z: \\tax187a\refprod
The command completed successfully.

Hi,
I am planning to deploy an Asterisk system to supply 4-6,000 students with
voicemail capabilities. The system will be set up with non-DIDs, route
incoming calls to voicemail, then send an email notification. Anyone with
some ideas on how I should go about spec'ing the server this use?

Performance issue on AIX when deleting files in a directory with a large number of files
Server:
- AIX5.3 with JFS2 file systems
- IBM pSeries 520 (1.9GHz p5+ CPU)
- Samba 3.0.22 (and the same problem exists in 3.0.21a)
- I tested Samba compiled from sources with GCC 4.0.2 and 3.4.3 same result
for both. I also downloaded the AIX binary from
http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/AIX/ and it has the same
problem as well.
