Cisco 76XX - How to ignore a call (silence ring)
I am preparing to setup a system using Cisco 7940 and 7960's I have the 7.1 SIP firmware on them. One issue I have run into is how to silence the ringer if a call comes in and you don't want to take it. Many phones have a DND button. I know the 79XX has the DND in the menu but it is to cumbersome to go into the settings then phone preferences then the DND and select yes. Is there any other

Problems with tinc 1.0.12
hallo, today I have updated the first node of our tinc clout (33 tinc nodes currently) to 1.0.12 - all the others still use 1.0.10 or 1.0.11. It seems the whole tinc link to already activated connections pauses when there is a name resolution or authentication timeout. Dial Plan Agents (1 of 2) agent-dialplan.conf
...use a club, the fact that EVERY bloody module has it's own authentication bits, so you can't have any shared PINs or anything. This maddens me to no end, because of the complexity to users mostly, and the headache to me. Hopefully dev's will fix this somehow. I don't h ave the clout to do it, and probably not the time. Something like PAM is NEEDED or something that alteast allows ALL the modules to SHARE some auth mechanisms and password changing mechs. Must also be available via dial plans like my stuff does. In any event...I'm releasing this version atleast under t...

call to a particular 800 number never shows answered on Zap channel
Whenever we call IBM, the call counter on the phone never starts and in the CLI the zap channel never gets the answered signal from the PRI. See below. -- Executing Dial("SIP/5933-645d", "Zap/g1/18004267378") in new stack -- Requested transfer capability: 0x00 - SPEECH -- Called g1/18004267378 At this point, I am in IBM's menu system. However the call never

...ity is out, and the sooner the players in online music realize this, the better it will be for everybody. It's still a party, but this time we're all invited. Exclusive Contracts: Bad Traditionally, artists have had no choice but to sign exclusively to any label with significant marketing clout. They lose the right to do anything with their name (now a brand) or music (now the label's property) during the life of the contract. As Tim Quirk of Too Much Joy pointed out in his Expert Sound-Off column for Music.CNET.com, it's quite ironic that the life of the contract is referred to a...

call to a particular 800 number never showsanswered on Zap channel
Thanks for the reply. Forgive me for being na?ve, however have jumped in to this asterisk project at work due to some circumstances beyond my control and I don't know a lot about carriers and how this all works. I am figuring it out, but it's a lot of trial by fire. As far as I know, we only use 1 carrier for our system. We have a PRI from NuVox and we use 7 channels for our asterisk

Resuming the discussion of establishing an LLVM code of conduct

OW #10.08 - Offers too good to be true
...simply forget to send in their rebate forms, and that non-receipt of a rebate check will probably be also overlooked. There's a great marketing opportunity for the online retailer who arranges to by-pass the mail-in rebates and offer direct discounts at time of purchase. Amazon would have the clout to do it - how about it Mr Bezos? 5. SAVE ATTACHMENTS We're not too concerned about the size of our Outlook PST/OST file especially since Outlook 2003 has lifted the size limit on the main data file. We like having the file attachments in Outlook partly because deleting them is time wasting...

Codifying our Brace rules-
Did this conversation reach a conclusion? My ad hoc tally says that a slight majority of the responders preferred to fully brace statements and no one wanted to totally eliminate braces. The technical arguments for fully braced statements were 1) it's considered a slightly safer coding style and 2) commit diffs with fully braced statements may be slightly more to the point. I didn't

Spring-rich killer: rails rich-client proposal
Hello Doug, I am not disputing anything you say and in fact, spring-rich is "okay" as far as swing development goes. But rails principles adheres to those which we hold near and dear such as "don''t repeat yourself" (note: spring-rich model, glazed lists model, jgoodies models) and "convention over configuration (note: xml config files). Let''s get away

RoR sucks, and heres why...
Well now that I got your attention.... Why RoR sucks: 1. It''s smarter than me. Just when I think I''ll have to do some mundane thing (like I use to in PHP or ASP), I find out RoR does it already for me. 2. It takes about half or less code to put my stuff together in RoR than it did in PHP, ASP, ASP.NET, etc. It seems so unnatural that I can have a method with only 4 lines
