which() over a matrix
Hello,
A brief question that I am not able to resolve by my own, but I presume
it's easy for you:
I've used apply to find the values closer to 0 in each row of a matrix:
closer.to.0 <- apply(abs(myarray),MARGIN=1,"min")
My question is how could I use which (or another way) to obtain a vector
that indicates which columns contains these "closer to 0" values?
(I know I can loop, but I mean a faster and elegant wa...

moving columns on a stripchart closer together
...olve by reading the manual. When I produce a stripchart with two straight columns of dots representing individual observations, one representing one group of subjects and the other representing another, the columns wind up at the far left and far right sides of the plot, and I'd like them to be closer together, about as far apart as they'd be if I used the boxplot function. I would also like to add a short horizontal line where the mean is for each of the columns, so that my readers can see the results of my significant t test graphically.
Any assistance in moving my columns together and ad...

Wine is one step closer to running Kuma Games on Linux
Sorry Wine,
I didn't see any postings of users congratulating you on the back and saying "well done" so I had too. The updater v2.0 for Kuma works now and you are one more step closer to having Kuma Games up and running on Linux.
I know I always have the freedom to donate ahead of time, but I want to see update when Kuma does finally work on my Linux distro on my machine first.
Well done, there are at least three windows applications that I use to use that I found work now fl...

Hello...
Added real control characters to the file, but they were still
ignored-- until I added "IMPLICIT 0" to the config file, and then they were
interpreted properly.
Now if I can figure out how to eliminate the "Could not find kernel...

getting closer to run homesite4.5
Thanks to Dimitry's tip I'm getting closer to run Allair's Homesite4.5 but I reached a point
where I don't know how to debug the remaining problem(s).
I used to get a runtime error, but with getting native stdole32.tlb this doesn't appear any more.
Now I have 2 scenarios:
1.) starting with native comctl32.dll (and commctrl.dl...

Correct. But it becomes closer each day that metze lands patches into
master, so today it became that important bit closer. :-)

Placing axes label strings closer to the graph?
...ot;Y label string" sitting lonely and far
away from the axes. How can these distances be adjusted? I read ?par
and didn't find this directly.
I want to hang on to 2.8 x 2.8 inches as the overall size of graph,
but it will be nice if the inner square frame was bigger and thus the
axes were closer to the strings. I will be happy with (say)
par(mai=c(.6,.6,.2,.2)). But if I just do this, the "X label string"
and "Y label string" were lost.
Thanks,
-ans.
