...has a free github account and clones the llvm-project repo into their account, what is the impact on their disk quota?  The llvm-project is huge but if one only changes a few files, does all the rest count against their quota or is some copy-on-write mechanism sharing the disk space amongst all cloners? thanks, brian

I have a Tripp Lite UPS and I have a configuration switch on one load and the PC plugged into the other load of the UPS is there any way to control the outlets of the UPS using NUT to allow the load the Switch is one to turn on before the PC load? Hello: I've been using EXT3 for awhile with Slackware Linux. I setup a master drive and I've been cloning it to identical hard drives using a hardware cloning device. My new batch of hard drives are a different size, so I can't use the hardware cloner. Is there any way to move the drive to a new, larger drive short of re-installing everything from scratch to make a new master? My question is this: If you have an ongoing blockcopy (drive-mirror) of a running transient VM, and the VM kernel panics, can you restart the VM without interrupting the ongoing blockcopy? A virsh reboot won't work since if the VM is kernel panicked, its not going to respond to ACPI requests.

..."fringe" for rsync but it does matter to a lot of OSX folk so I don't know if there is any way to speed it up. I've made some small backup wrapper applications for people and they always want the creation date..... I noticed the rsync version that is used now in Carbon Copy Cloner is pretty "clean" with meatdata and saves the creation date and is very fast..... ...copied. If you take an external snapshot prior to starting a blockcopy, then you have a setup where the backing file is large and stable, while the delta qcow2 wrapper is still relatively small. Copy the backing file via external means, if you have something more efficient such as a storage pool cloner. Meanwhile, use a shallow blockcopy of just the qcow2 wrapper. If that has to be restarted, it is a much smaller file to redo; also, because it is smaller, a shallow blockcopy is likely to finish faster.
