clog-log based heckit?
Dear R Help,
I'm using the sampleSelection library to run a heckman model. The default is
to use a probit model for the selection equation. I would like to know if it
is possible to use a clog-log for the selection equation either with the
sampleSelection library or in a different way. Is this possible? I'd
appreciate any advice!

Here's an idea: how about we take the ModuleMaker, Valery's previous
example, and this one and put them all in one "small examples" project?

[LLVMdev] JIT API example (fibonacci)
Valery,
That's pretty cute actually. Do you want this "brilliant" :) example in the cvs
repository? I'd be happy to put it in.
Reid.

llvm build failed on Fedora 24
Hi,
I'm try to build llvm on my PC but it failed. I'm using following command,
$ cmake -G "Ninja" ../llvm -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=prefix=$INSTALL_PATH
-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DLLVM_ENABLE_ASSERTIONS=On
$ ninja-build -j 2
I have skipped libcxx and libcxxabi package.
It shows below error,

[LLVMdev] JIT API example (fibonacci)
On second thought, the makefiles don't (easily) allow this do they? You can
only build one program per directory. Were you suggesting that you wanted me to
move the entire directories under a "small examples" directory?
Reid.

You're right. The simples way to do this would be to have:

[LLVMdev] JIT API example (fibonacci)
Hi LLVMers,
the example attached I have used to prove that JIT and some visible
optimizations are really invoked.
Proved OK. I got 30% speed-up in comparison to gcc 3.3.3
on my Athlon XP 1500.
Nice.
P.S. guys, no fears, I don't plan to flood the cvs repository
with my "brilliant" examples ;)

DHCP logging settings
I find that libvirt clogs up syslog with trivial DHCP notifications. I
know how to configure alternate logging with dnsmasq directly via
'log-facility' and/or 'quiet-dhcp' options but the XML format used by
libvirt appears to have no equivalent options. Is there a way to reduce
syslog spam from libvirt without switching to a system-wide dnsmasq service?

Ban Atomia.com?
Can a mail admin ban atomia.com from posting? I mean, I like the idea that every post is clogging up their support queue, but really, not that much.

for the life of me figure out what is clogging the / dir. I deleted all mail and .pinerc from /root, and i got rid of the
kernel.GENERIC, and i emptied the var/log dir. I still need to get rid of 500K. Anyone know why my / dir is filling up and where i
can get some space?
Is this part of samba or something else?

stack level too deep when parsing xml
I''m trying to figure out why I''m getting a stack level too deep error.
I have controller which parses xml (about 1400 lines) and ingests it
into mysql. First I was getting a system stack error every time, but
then I found the ulimit -s command which allows me to raise it from 8mb
to 64mb. That solved the problem I thought,
But now, I can parse the xml once, but when I do it

XP Pro / Redhat / Samba Printer Suggestions
I am looking at buying a new home office printer and wondered what you all
might suggest.
My current printer is a very inexpensive Canon BubbleJet, and I find it
clogs frequently, has very small ink tanks, and the Maintenance functions
from my XP clients does not work with samba, requiring I switch the printer
cable to an XP machine for maintenance.
My config is this:

Compileing 2.2.3a ( and ealier) on HPUX11
Hi,
I am trying to compile 2.2.3a on an HPUX11 system using HP's native
compilers and I am getting the folling errors.
cpp: "/usr/include/sys/xti.h", line 488: warning 2001: Redefinition of
macro TCP_NODELAY.
cpp: "/usr/include/sys/xti.h", line 489: warning 2001: Redefinition of

The above is an example, it happens for each stage of the compile
process.

subnet browsing crappy solution!
...em worked!
As I have a network of more subnets linked through routers that
communicate via the internet, I instructed all routers to send the netbios
broadcast packets from their subnets to the linux server. Now all the
computers show in the NN, without any difficulty in access. And the issue of
clogging the net with broadcast packets isn't that grave, as they are small
and transmited only from time to time.

Attacks on ssh port
...re a security problem with ssh that I've missed???
Ik keep getting these hords of:
Failed password for root from 69.242.5.195 port 39239 ssh2
with all kinds of different source addresses.
They have a shot or 15 and then they are of again, but a little later on
they're back and keep clogging my logs.
Is there a "easy" way of getting these ip-numbers added to the
blocking-list of ipfw??
Thanx,

BUG: scp -r follows symlinks
hey all
'scp -r ' follows symlinks. IMO this is a bug and should be changed - it:
a) hampers the use of scp. As it stands, I cannot use 'scp -r' because of this
behavior. If someone links to '/', or if I hit a recursive symlink, I'm screwed.
b) It is inconsistant with cp. When you 'cp -r' on a file, it does NOT follow the
symlink. When you scp

Wrong battery.date variable value
Kevin,
As Matthijs noted, pfSense uses a circular log file. The default size is ~500KB, which can be a bit small. You can increase the log file size by changing the “Log file size” parameter on the Log management page. Look for the wrench symbol on the system log page (Status / System Logs / System / General). Note that you have to clear the log after changing its size. FWIW, I have mine set to
