Abeelabs Pagescript for clipper error "Unable to create file
Pagescript is a app that captures print from a old dos program (clipper) and sends it to a windows printer. The program starts ok, and get a print manager screen, but linux reports a file creation error. Pagescript is trying to create a spool file but can't. I already gave the directory full read/write permissions. Not sure if this is a wine error, dosbox, or pagescript problem. Pagescript

Samba + Clipper problem!
Hi everyone,
Here is the problem:
I have a server running Red Hat 5.2 and Samba-2.0.4 as
file server for
about 20 diskless machines with MSClient boot disks (created with
NT
server SP3). The server shares a dir with a Clipper/DBF database
for
those clients and the EXE file is in a NT machine. For weeks I've
been
trying to put the things together but the clients always break

Locking problems in 2.2.2
Hi,
I am using a small network of, say, 10 W2K workstations on which I run a
database application using shared table and index files on a Samba 2.2.2 server
(Suse Linux 7.2). The application was just ported from Clipper to XBase++. The
Clipper compiled app (it's a 16-bit DOS application) runs fine. The 32-bit XBase++
app produces corrupt index files and behaves eratically after several

Locking between GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows
Hi,
I'm having some trouble with locking between GNU/Linux and
Microsoft Windows. I wrote some Clipper code that run's on
GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows (compiled to different binaries
ofcourse) that tries to lock a file on a Samba share.
Between Microsoft Windows clients there is no problem. The
locking works as expected. If one client does an EXCLUSIVE lock,
the other's can't

FoxPro's lock function over SAMBA file server
I have a very nasty problem on a small network using a linux 2.2.5-15 and Samba 2.0.3 (RH 6.0)
server and two clients Win95 and Win98.
I have to use a program of commercial administration made in clipper . On Novell servers this
program works fine but on Samba server It does not allow that the two stations access the same file
concurrently.
The same problem is shown when in Fox Pro I am

[OT] Canada on Rails by ferry?
Hey y''all,
Are any folks planning on taking the ferry from Seattle to Vancouver
(via Victoria)? I''ve never done it before so I have no idea how much
of an adventure it is. Flights are a $100+ less to Seattle than
Vancouver so the price works out the same or a bit less. My plan is
to fly to Seattle (from Savannah, GA) on Tuesday to catch the early
ferry on Wednesday

oplocks and pagemaker files
SuSE 7.2, Samba 2.2.6
User plaform WIN98se
Was wondering if someone could point me to information regarding oplocks (I
read the man on smb.conf regarding that and level2 oplocks)...
I needed to set oplocks = no and level2 oplocks = no in order for them to
be able to open pagemaker files from the samba server...otherwise it would
say 'can not open file'
I am just trying to get a grip on

Locking problem
Hi all!
I am using Debian Sarge with Samba version 3.0.14a-Debian and experience a
locking problem:
the program is a linux port of a Clipper program compiled with xHarbour
(www.xharbour.org). It uses byte-range-locking to lock a record of a dbf
database. If I mount the server directory over an smbmount and start 2
clients on the server accessing the server directory over the smbmount, the

[PATCH] ./configure fails to recognize alphapca56 (R-1.1.0)
I think I reported this bug in the past. At that time, I was told that
it is a bug of autoconf.
./configure does not recognize Linux on DEC Alpha 21164PC (a cheap version
of Alpha EV56), so all the compilation flags were set incorrectly. I
don't know the right way to fix it (I don't know how autoconf works
yet ...), but the following patch fixes the problem.
Thank you,
