Yum using proxy that requires authentication and a Password that contains the two characters \/ fails normally I can get yum to work with a proxy that requires authentication when required by doing something like http_proxy=http://<my username>:<my password>@<proxy server>:<proxy server port> export http_proxy or by filling in the appropriate information in yum.conf.

Hi People, I have a user who is regularly having X Crash. This seemed to happen once a month but has increased to once or twice a week. It doesn't seem to be application specific. Hi I use yumdownloader occasionally to grab RPMS. One thing that confuses me though is the --source option. I thought this would mean rather than getting the RPM that it would retrieve the source RPM. But it appears this isn't the case. Can anyone explain what this option actually relates to ?
