Samba not recognizing secondary groups

folders as empty, and the Samba server's logs reveal a telling
NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED error. So I've tried to use her account to
access those shares in unSamba ways, like from the command line or via
SFTP, and everything works fnie. Only Samba refuses to let her in.
Here's the clincher: if I make the contents of any folder universally
read/write (chmod -R o+rw foldername), the user can connect to that
folder and read the contents via Samba. So the issue isn't that somethign
is wrong with her account, but just that Samba won't recognize any of the
secondary groups to whic...

Hi?

I tested mac osx clients on a normal windows 7 share and it works fine
I tested mac osx clients on a samba 3.5 .. share and everything works fine.
As i am in a professional environment and all the windows clients are already binded to the samba 4 domain i

Understanding NAT Traversal
Quick question re. NAT traversal.
I understand how sitting behind a NAT could cause problems for a SIP UA.
The SIP UA would create SIP mesages using IP addresses from inside the
network (i.e. 192.#.#.# or 10.#.#.#) and these IP addresses are of course
unnavigable for the recipient.
What I don't get is why don't web browsers suffer the same problem?
A web brower behind a NAT sends an

batch-mode fixes [was: [PATCH] fix read-batch SEGFAULT]
Chris,
to put things in the right prespective, you should read (if you haven't
done so already) the original paper describing the design behind batch
mode. The design and implementation of this functionality goes back to
a project called the Internet2 Distributed Storage Infrastructure
(I2-DSI). As part of that project, the authors created a modified
version of rsync (called rsync+)

An "R is slow"-article
Hi all,
Reading the wikipedia page on R, I stumbled across the following:
http://fluff.info/blog/arch/00000172.htm
It does seem interesting that the C execution is that much slower from
R than from a native C program. Could any of the more technically
knowledgeable people explain why this is so?
The author also have some thought-provoking opinions on R being
no-good and that you should write

I hope some/any of the developers is listening...
Is it fairly safe to say that the IP address(es) used in no way effect the RID
or SID?
BTW, now that I've nailed my PDC back to it's original IP, things seem to be
settleing in again.

That's probably the clincher. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't be surprised
if clients were freaking out because they are sending/receiving packets from
different IPs.

Re: Installing VC++ 2005 SP1 Redistribution using wine
Don't want to start a new thread, I think its the same problem. I use ubuntu jaunty and wine 1.1.26, I tried to install secret of monkey island SE which needs vcrun2005sp1 to work. I tried both manual and winetricks but when I run the game I get;
fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.VC80.CRT" (8.0.50727.762)
