Ban Atomia.com?
Can a mail admin ban atomia.com from posting? I mean, I like the idea that every post is clogging up their support queue, but really, not that much.

How to create own distance measure in cluster ?
Hi everyone,
I want to create my own distance measure, other than 'euclidean' or
'manhatan', to use in cluster pckgs. To do this I think that I need to
change dist(), in mva pckg, or daisy(), in cluster pckg. (or is there a
cleaver way ?)
But this functions are in fact things like: .Fortran( "daisy", ... ) or
.C("dist",...).
I tried unsuccessfully to find source code of .Fortran or .C function to
lear how R calculate dissimilarity matrix and then modify source to add my
own distance metrix.
Could someo...

Data Structures
Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who replied to my change of case question... I doubt I
would have ever randomly guessed 'toupper' or 'tolower'.
I am trying to be cleaver[1] and make a flexible data structure in R. I
have a relatively large quantity of data that can be broadly grouped into
blocks/chunks which are identical in their form:
blockid = numeric
blocktype = string
dbname = string
tblname = string
quality = numeric
errortype = numeric

hosts allow
So far, so good with 1.9.18p1 on HPUX 10.20 (kudos to the Samba team!).
However, I've got a question....
I'd like to be able to restrict access to some of our services, and can
certainly do so with the "hosts allow = " entry in smb.conf - it does
exactly what I want. But... I plan on bringing Samba up on a few campus
hosts, some of which have more extensive listings of PCs I

Would RHEL, CentOS, and Fedora Remain Open Source/Free Software After IBM Buys Red Hat for $34 Billion?
Why do you say so?

In many cases it's as easy as downloading a new tar source file and adding it to the existing source rpm, doing three seconds of editing on the spec file to account for the new update, and compiling the result. Sometimes it's

Render Time, Search Time
...ill be interesting to show in the
footer''s page. So, searching around, the only way I found it about
showing is to get the "start time" in some initialize method, and
the, in the view, get something like
render_time = right_now_time - start_time .
is there any other "cleaver" way to do this? some "system verbose"
array with the same values that lighttpd shows in console?

moving correlation coef ?
Hello,
R gives us the correlation functions cor(). (Many thanks ;-))
Does it also exist a "moving correlation" coefficient ?
(like the moving average).
If not, could someone give me some infos or link
on how to practically implement such a function in R.
(I did search for "moving correlation" on the R homepage
but didn't find anything.)
Thank you.

Seeking suggestions about interfacing of LLVM DataFlowSanitizer library with KLEE in C code.
Dear Developers,

Workgroups
I am very new to samba and have installed samba 2.2.8 on a sco unix open
server 5.07 system with wins.
My current windows network has about 50 users split into department
workgroups.
How can I get them all to see the samba server? When I look at the network
neighbourhood it only shows up in one workgroup.
I have put two workgroups in the global area but it only shows the second
