Very Cool.........Asterisk Made Wired Magazine
Hi Guys,
The article "They've Got Your number" in the Dec 2004 issue of WIRED
magazine mentions Asterisk PBX (on p.100). The article is about phone
phreaks hijacking cell phones with Bluetooth technology along with spoofing
CID to pull some clandestine hacks on the PSTN. Anyhow, Asterisk is
mentioned as the PBX of choice for an outfit: Telephreaks.org out of Florida
that has built their own free VoIP service.
Quotes:
"Slestak, Da Beave, and GiD are the crew behind Florida-based
Telephreaks.org, a free VoIP service that they've built...

We don't want DNS requests to be forwarded by dnsmasq from an isolated
network - forwarded DNS requests and responses can be used as a
clandestine medium for communicating outside the guest (we actually had
a bug report about this).
libvirt's virtual networks are intended to be a simple way to setup the
most common networking scenario. It sounds like you're beyond that, so
you probably should do your own network setup on the host ou...

Open Source in an Economic Downturn: Asterisk stories needed
I'm giving a talk at SCALE 2009 (Southern CAlifornia Linux Expo) on
Sunday in Los Angeles, and the topic of my talk is "Open Source in an
Economic Downturn". I've got lots of talking points for this talk,
but it would be interesting to hear some short anecdotes about how you
in the Asterisk community are thriving, or at least surviving, by
virtue of the benefits of

Network time sync and reverse NetBios name lookup
I made a somewhat deep check for time synchronization and I
couldn't find what I was looking for. What I need to do is synchronize
the clock on a Linux box to the clock on an NT server. I can't use NTP
or any other protocol because the NT box doesn't understand it. Any
pointers would be great.
The second issue is that I need to do (if possible) a reverse
NetBios name lookup by
