A couple of CentOS 5.1 issues
I've finally made the switch to CentOS 5.1 (I had been running 4.6).
So far, so good, but I do have a few issues.
First, I can not find kermit (or ckermit) in any of the repos (base,
extras, centosplus, rpmforge). On my 4.6 systems, /usr/bin/kermit
was provided by the package ckermit in the base repo. That package
appears to be no longer available. Any ideas where I could find a
suitable replacement?
Second (and this is probably OT), I us...

...dows does not CTRL + number or CTRL + symbol'.
Whilst this is a reasonable assumption, this is in fact incorrect as
Windows will indeed return CTRL+symbol. Indeed if it didn't, my C++
Builder Wyse120-based emulator application wouldn't be able to detect
and send CTRL-\ keystrokes to cKermit or CTRL-] keystrokes to telnet

a little investigation in the source files, I traced the problem to the

For you old-timers, an RS232 question about data rate confirmation.
Hello all.
This is a question that I should be able to answer, but the old grey
cells aren't working. My Google-Fu must not be up to snuff, either.
I have a MOXA IP-RS232 converter that I'm going to be using over an RF
WAN and I need to confirm the actual data rate that I'll be able to
achieve. I have the drivers loaded (/dev/ttyr00) and a loopback plug on
the end of the device. I

External Dial-up Modem
I am having an issue with Centos 6 and an external USRobotics modem. We
use the modem as part of a last resort SMS paging system.
Across multiple Dell servers, different models, I can't not get the
modem to respond to simple AT commands while using Minicom. At the same
time if I connect the server to a console port on a switch I can
successfully access the switches serial console. So I

Here is the output from yum -y upgrade without the error parts...
Its odd because it updated all of these first time round. I have dared
reboot the box yet, for fear it won't come back up...
