...and get a shell login using the alternate virtual consoles, but when I try this the Ctrl-Alt-Fn keystrokes are processed by the Hardy laptop and I acces its alternate virtual consoles instead of the domU''s alternate consoles. The only helpful comment I have received suggested considering chvt Ctrl-Alt-Fn is bound somehow to the command: chvt n Perhaps I can build a customized installer and modify these bindings. No output, no prompts, nothing. ...f weeks ago, I posted a question about how to recover a card (an Asus ENGT430 card, which the box says is a GeForce GT 430, running Mageia 1 with kernel 2.6.38.8-server-10.mga) when the cursor had disappeared or the card had locked up while exiting X. I've previously used includes in CentOS 4.4 and they worked fine. But in CentOS 5.5, trying to specify a driver disk via an include does not work. If I instead specify it directly, it loads fine. When it fails (because it can't see the disk drive - needs the driver disk to see the hard disk), in Console 2 I can see that /tmp/drvdisk exists and has the line I wrote to it. I see nothing

On CentOS-based VM appliance I'm building, I would like to create a script that runs upon login that asks the user a series of questions that does (among other things) ask them to input their networking information (IP, mask, gate, DNS, etc). Hi all, trying to do an install on a ATI radeon 3200 system I am using a kickstart file from 5.2 that works fine in 5.2 First two lines of my post section I do: init 3 chvt 3 This is not happening ? When I try and do a CTRL-ALT-F2 the screen goes black, ALT-F6 to go back has a white screen with the mouse cursor showing busy and the normal background is missing or just not painted. Any ideas? I need to (occasionally) automatically drop out of X11 mode, recompile something, and then reboot. I can drop out of X11 with "init 3", works fine. I use "chvt 1" to ensure I am on virtual terminal 1 My recompile and reboot also work. The piece that doesnt work is: make | tee $LOGFILE I was expecting the output (stdout) to be virtual terminal 1. When you loose keyboard focus in a game (say, Diablo 2) in wine, I haven't found a way to re-get it. The mouse works fine but the keyboard does not work once you loose the focus (for example by clicking outside the ddraw area). Any solutions ? Also, is there a way to "ALT+TAB" out of wine ? Because I was thinking maybe DXGrab = Y could help this, but it is too dangerous to enable

...e graphics don't work anywhere near as well as with the native Quake 3 though which does concern me a bit. My main concern is a lack of keyboard. I looked through earlier postings for solutions and have now tried the DXgrab=Y option, which didn't help.
