Implementation of custom USV solution driver from manufacturer
Dear Nut-Devs, I have general question to the contribution and the handling of new code in the NUT-Project. We would like to implement our USV-Solution as a driver to NUT, but we are having the problem, that we need a powerful “C”-based gpio library for it. We discussed this topic internally, and we are having the opinion, that it does make sense, to write this library separate from a

Samba 3 / Solaris 8 / Kerberos
Hi, I have a problem to compile Samba 3 with ADS support on Solaris. Unfortunatly, Solaris 8 doesn't come with integrated kerberos support, so that configure doesn't find any support for kerberos. For Solaris 8 there is a package called SEAM 1.0.1 with provides kerberos functionality for Solaris, but the needed header file, i.e krb5.h, are not included and according to my

Unexpected behavior in factor level ordering
Hello, Everybody: This may not be a "bug", but for me it is an unexpected outcome. A factor variable's levels do not retain their ordering after the levels function is used. I supply an example in which a factor with values "BC" "AD" (in that order) is unintentionally re-alphabetized by the levels function. To me, this is very bad behavior. Would you agree? #

Selecting supported chipsets in the driver?
Hi, my apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. I had the desire to turn on or off support for certain chipsets. Because i felt like the nouveau drivers are (relatively) quite large and depends on some kernel code that would only be used for certain chipsets. I will take some time this week to see how this is coded and if its possible but i just wanted a head sup opinion on you guys

Shorewall DNAT to IPSET
I would like to dnat certain protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH) to the contents of an ipset (lan:+serviceshost or similar) where the ipset is ensured to contain only one host, but can be changed dynamically when services are in maintenance mode and go to the "services are down" message on another server. Will this work, or am I barking up a fish here?

very high traffic without any load
Hi everyone,   I am new to using tinc and currently trying to set up a full IPv6 mesh between 4 servers of mine. Setting it up went smoothly and all of the tinc clients do connect properly. Routing through the network works fine as well. There is however a large amount of management traffic which I assume should not be the case.   Here is a quick snapshot using "tinc -n netname top"

Samba 3 doesn't compile against SUN directory server 4.16sp1
Hi folks, I tried to compile samba 3 on Solaris 8 with SUn directory server 4.16sp1. I run configure --with-acl-support --with-quotas. The first problem is, that configure reports that ldap.h can not be compiled. In config.log, I found the following lines: configure:22013: checking ldap.h usability configure:22022: gcc -c -g -O2 -I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE _OFFSET_BITS=64
